Wow what a surprise, Rosalee is being judgemental.
To lovelylissa: I would insist your husband support you. The situation as you describe it is not fair.
i got disfelowshiped when i divorced my husband and altho we both went on to have relationships with other people he didn't get disfelowshiped as he wasn't going to meetings.
we have since then got back together and i find it so frustrating that i still get treated like a leper being shunned by his family and all the other witnesses but he still gets invited to dinner and works with them.
i don't want to be best buddys with any of them i just hate it when they cross the road to avoid me .

i noticed alot of polls of what the guys prefer..how about the ladies?
do you prefer blonde, redhead or dark?
how about height?
how about tall and IN THE dark, handsome?
What is it with teeth? You buying a freaking horse? "better check the teeth Wilbur. Ma don't want us bringin home no critter fit fer the glue factory"
i read the two books.. awakening - this was the story of a married witness woman (elder husband) with family in the religion.
she had childbirth/blood rh issues and had to deal with not 'associating' with a disfellowshipped daughter.
throughout the book she wrestles with various issues and suffers mental anguish jumping through hoops because of the religion.
Franz' books are great for those never exposed to the realities of Bethel life. To any bethelite reading it, they would chuckle and nod and see themselves experiencing the same things daily. It came across when I reviewed for some work in Legal as a malcontent and was easily dismissed by me at that time.
It was doctrine, lack of real love, lack of humanitarian values of any kinds, that drove me out. The hypocrasy at the higher levels was simpyl icing on the decision making cake.
.
i guess this means you can maim and kill animals all you want, just so long as you don't enjoy it too much.. sorta like being a isrealite warrior who makes a living killing people but yet is commanded to "hate violence".
[inkling].
If you are going to piss off members of the flock, it is wise not to piss off the ones with guns. idiots!!

Since vacation plans fell through, I am still doing this trip. I am flying into Reno on Friday and will be there until next Thursday morning.
What I do and where I go between Thursday and catching a flight home from Vegas on Sunday is wide open. Suggestions are welcome.
Uzzah
ever get to that point, where you want to throw your hands up and say screw it?
i'm tired, overworked, stressed and need a break.. just been cruising a couple of last minute deal places and am thinking of cuba.
$400 all inclusive beachfront including airfare.
Well Cuba is off I was hoping to find an alternate to attend a conference and do a presentation on my behalf so I could take off on vacation but they have bailed on me. So I am travelling but for work.
Friday I head to Reno for a week or so. Good news is I have three days at the end to explore. So I am either going to hit San Fran or the Grand Canyon (and Area 51) but either way end up in Vegas for my flight home.
Any recommendations from locals or people that have been to these places? Which would you recommend and why? Also what is the 'must sees' in Vegas? I have a room with two queen beds so if anyone wants free accommodations in Reno for a couple of days, let me know. LOL
this question is about your initial response visually....not the girl, not the girl your with, just what color hair draws your eye first.. blond, brunette, red, or black?.
r..
well it seemed the thread was insistent on our hair preferences, but eyes... <sigh> damn some sets of eyes will capture me in an instant. It isn't just color either, I have fallen into the sea of blue & green eyes but have melted when gazing into deep brown eyes .... okay time to find the towel to wipe the drool off the keyboard.

Length/fullness of hair will always catch my eye before color. Like most guys I do love long hair.
Hair color.. <shrug> it is how they work it, style it,etc. A blonde with stringy dirty hair stuck to her head glumly walking down the street just doesn't do it but a lady with a bounce in her step and long silky locks swaying as she walks, will definitely get my attention.
It has long been joked "guys will f*** a blonde but marry a brunette" based on the premise that blondes do get noticed first. Not sure the merits of that but ....
At this point I am more concerned about which ladies could possibly notice me with NO hair since it seems to all be about color. Personality better damn count for something or I am seriously screwed! (and not in a good way)
