  whoopie specifically asked sherry about jws and their prediction of the end of the world.

  she said that the jws were having public meetings to tell people how to survive the end.. sherry answered that the predictions came from the bible and that the jws predicted the end in 1975 and they were still waiting.. the others chimed in with a lot of jokes so not much more was said but i was glad sherry got to say something and that the end was predicted in 1975..

  this is for anyone who cares... just my thoughts and opinions, which have slightly changed since i have left the cult.

  a poster named melita said some really inappropriate things on barbara andersons thread on jaracz's stroke, which got me to finally post this, just to put it out there...... when i first left, i was scared s*itless that i was being monitored and watched by bethel for reading and posting here.

  and i bet i am.

  Paranoia is huge when you first start thinking for yourself

  I remember being in a bookstore looking for "apostate' literature being absolutely convinced an elder was going to jump me as I walked out of the Christian bookstore. Never happened.

  I was tracked for a while due to involvement with some of the legal cases but that was diffused quickly. But if you are simply fading there is a very slim liklihood of you being tracked here especially if you do not post personal information.

  If you are involved in legal cases or other activities against the JW's then you should limit posting anything personal that would identify you. Otherwise brooklyn just doesn't care/

  Life After JWs

  i wanted to share some very cool (in my opinion) news.

  in two months i will have been gone from bethel for 14 years and attended my last meeting 11 years ago.

  i spent 11 years at bethel sacrificing all of my 20's to the borg and finding myself at age 32 with no resume or real work experience.. it has been a tough haul with the majority of my energy going into building a career.

  i spent 11 years at bethel sacrificing all of my 20's to the borg and finding myself at age 32 with no resume or real work experience.. it has been a tough haul with the majority of my energy going into building a career.

  Well the election is over ....

  81% of the voters ...

  ELECTED ME AS VICE PRESIDENT of the Association - Canada Region.

  70% of the eligible people voted. It was the largest election victory of all the five positions that were part of the election.

  Add to that the fact that I just started dating an intelligent and beautiful former TV personality who is now a French teacher.... who actually seems to like me even!!

  There is in fact a career, nay a life after the JW's!!!

  ROCK ON EXJW's!!!! The best revenge to the WTBS is to lead a happy and full life!

  I have just had a WHOO HOO moment - a pattern in WT lies TIMING in mags

  april 1st, may 15th and sometimes september.. the number of huge doctrinal bombs, or manipulative deceits that have been printed regularly in those editions is incredible.. if i had the cd still i want to target those magazines to see what they put across.. the pattern is so regular it is monotonous.

  i only realised this today as i was looking up some older threads, and realised how often these months come up.. of course when they want to slip something past craftily, they prolly use a feb or nov witchtower.. anybody able to confirm??.

  do april 1, or may 15 have any special secret "pagan " or other associations??.

  Memorial season and th man created "Service year" conclusion were the two identified times when the weak or inactive generally participated in meetings etc. Often the guilt trips were heaviest to correspond with this time frame.

  Also recognizing the pagan New Year's commitments that get made, they hit the blood card and donation campaign messages during that time.

  So it isn't so much pagan connections it is just good marketing

  i wonder if we each put up who we lost from our lives and how long ago if it would be a testament to those who might find this thread and think.

  the absurdity.. my parents: 12 years.

  my brother: 12 years (he is now married).

  Calgary Flames out of the Stanley Cup playoffs ... again

  i supported manchester city for all those years and now get to support the man city of ice hockey, the calgary flames.. .

  None of the Canadian teams really deserved to be in the playoffs this year. It is a sad reality. Vancouver at least is going to the second round.

  Get used to it Simon, as a Toronto fan I have been waiting over 40 years for my team to do something in the playoffs.
