  we were very lucky not to have another airplane blow up this past christmas.. do you think we will see this country under a systematic attack in the near future?.

  Unfortunately yes I do think there will be more acts of terrorism visited upon the US.

  Part of teh shock of 9-11 was that it happened on US soil. Suicide bombers are a daily threat elsewhere and teh US has bee left relativelt unscathed from such things with the exception of domestic terrorist activities (OK City).

  It is this domestic threat that is more likely to escalate in North America than foreign threats IMO. I do really feel the US needs to concentrate more on domestic issues before continuing their world police function they had assigned to themselves.

  ...and once again, the "protection" offered by the government proves to be totally ineffectiive.. consider: the fellow who committed friday's attempted mass murder was on watchlists, yet he was able to board after paying cash for his ticket and carrying no luggage.

  these are supposed to be warning signs.

  Note it was an overly cautious report made by the flight crew who are still obviously on edge. IT was a legitimate AFRICAN MUSLIM businessman (ar they 'single-minded too?) who was actually sick and not a second attempt of terrorism.

  Killer Egg Nog for diabetics

  my wife was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was missing her usual traditional egg nog.. the market had low sugar egg nog but it still had way too much sugar for her, so we decided to make our own from scratch using splenda.. the results?

  utterly traditionally fantastic!.

  Salter called Rutherford a liar....WOW

  i had never heard of this letter before.

  not sure how william salter was exactly.

  someone high up in the organization at some point.. i didn't go looking for this, i was rooting around on doc bob's site looking or the baptism questions and i stumbled across this letter that salter wrote to rutherford.. he just comes right out and calls rutherford a liar.

  Careful. I wouldn't Canonize him quite yet.

  Salter was a thief and screwed around on his wife while hypocritically taking a moral stand against Rutherford and opposing Percy Chapman the then Branch Coordinator in Canada. For him it was more about his ego than morals.

  He made off with Real Estate donated to the WTBS. While he may have been right about Rutherford and the Borg, he was no saint.

  Santa Claus Parade - Oh so evil

  well i was in the local santa claus parade today marching along with a few others from one of the local service clubs.

  the streets were lined with children bundled up to stay warm, waving at everyone passing by with random shouts of merry christmas coming from their young, happy and eager faces.

  older people in wheelchairs, smiling brightly as they watched the floats and tapping their feet merrily to the christmas tunes.. thousands of people coming together laughing, wishing each other well, smiling faces and happy memories being formed of family time together.. christ's birthday or just a family time and tradition doesn't really matter.. i was truly happy today.

  just saw the 2008 movie called "2012: doomsday" by faithfilms.. what a waste of time and a waste of a dvd!!!.

  here's the plot if one can call it that:.

  "the final day on the mayan calendar finds four faithful strangers convening at an ancient temple in the heart of mexico in this apocalyptic thriller starring cliff de young and dale midkiff.

  I have heard it drags in the beginning but once the action starts it doesn't stop. I do disaster response for a living so for me it is a must see. I will be sitting there going through all the 'what would I do if" type thoughts throughout.

  i'd like to point out that men do even more irrating and inexplicable things than women.... 1) not wanting to ask for directions.

  2) getting a kick out of seeing people blown up in movies.

  I was bemoaning my singleness (an admitted passing moment of self pity) last night to a good friend (female). I was frustrated at watching some amazing women chase after a coupole of complete jerks, throwing themselves at these idiots.

  I was then lectured by my friend that I need to become more needy. That's right I am too well-adjusted and self-suffient. If I want women chasing after me I need to come across as someone who needs help (aka mothering) or needs 'fixing.'

  My response, if that is what those women want, they are not the ones I am looking for. So it is all good.

  What is it with women? Hmm maybe I should have posted this in the other thread.

  Uzzah - of the 'guy who doesn't usually need directions but has asked for them when all else fails and does like his action flicks' class.

  Perhaps it is the arrogance and tone of your posts that leads people to believe it is more testosterone driven.

  It is the height of huberus to believe you can channel the thoughts of what you claim is the highest entity and most powerful creature of the Universe.

  It is also your obsessive and controlling nature dmonstrated in your posts (insisting that only certain people are 'allowed' to post on your threads) that people may think you are male.

  I personally just think you need to go on meds to stop hearing 'the voices'

  oh and I do not accept your passive aggresive 'peace' that you wish upon others whom you have obviously judged as either being worthy or not.
