do demons flee when someone pronounces god's name, jehovah?
i know this is a belief from the jws, but i don't know on what it is founded, or if it is.
I believe in demons, also God. The name Jehovah scares away demons...When I was akid I was having what I considered to be demonic attacks...I said Jehovah out loud...And I could tell whatever "force" there was tormenting me...had fled. That's my experience. It does'nt mean that the Watchtower is right, it just means that for some reason the name Jehovah I think has some thing going on with it....Or maybe It was my faith in IT. Or maybe I should get back on thorazine.

i am really curious as to how you will answer this soj,,,,,,,and any other active jw's who post here, even read here,,,,,,,,,because when i was an active witness,,,,,,,,i was taught that reading any apostate material was wrong.
i didnt even watch a tv show that talked bad about the jw"s for fear it was an apostate program.. i know if you are caught soj, posting here,,,,,,you would not have been reinstated( you were right?

I really wish we would'nt discourage people like Sword to stop posting. If I would have heeded the message from the "Slave" I would'nt have gotten all the information I have, which has helped me see all the "new light" here. Real "new light". I would hope that we would want to have any curious witnesses here express their concerns, or question us on our own beliefs. When I first got on this board I was a real jerk, calling people names, telling people to get a life, and basically sticking up for the witnesses. I quickly got over that because of what I learned here and on other sites such as this. Telling witnesses to stay away from here will not help them. Even somebody as irritating and non-sensical as The "Swordster". Believe me, I've wanted to reach into the computer and rip his head off many times.

Scooby Snax is a 40 to 45 year old female.....5'4 to 5'6.... 340 lbs. Wears glasses, likes romantic movies, was married once but husband left. Short dark hair, sits in the back of the hall (when she goes) is sick of all the injustices in the world, likes people, good sense of humor, has doubts about the truth and is saddened when she sees all the old timers she's known and loved all these years and knows that they will never actually live to see armageddon. Has some friends in the truth, but not too many because of her lackluster meeting attendance, but is down deep a very loving and caring person who would do anything to help someone if it is in her power to do so, has pets, and is a pisces.

This is like a bad pro wrestling league.....Sword of Jah is the perfect villian, and Scooby Snax is like his/her manager.....I want to be the announcer/interviewer. Sword of Jah would come out in a bad suit and use his book bag as a weapon. And then do the pioneer shuffle on someones face as his secret move. Then Scooby would lift up her leg and pee on the hapless opponet while he is being pinned. Then Sword of Jah, amid a chorus of boos, would yell into the microphone "SHUT UP EVERYBODY........PRAISE JAH YOU PEOPLE....AND ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM". Scooby would then bark uncontrollably. The secret weapon against Sword would be a blood sausage tossed at him. What fun.

I have to say that I agree with the prior assertion that it was not advantageous to "the cause" to have the witness religion characterized as a "Pedophile Paradise" on the dateline show. My families response to that was "awww come on, who do you know that's been molested from the hall?" "Pedophile Paradise? Gimme a break". That's what I'm talking about. The average witness where I'm from has absolutely NO recollection of ANY stories of abuse. The people in Oregon and other places where this has taken place can SEE IT. I'm glad the Watchtower is being exposed in those places, but to give sensationalistic catch phrases to this serious problem actually detracts from what I hope is the "goal" here, with most of us, and that is to see the Watchtower at the very least change their policies, and at the most, be completely disbanded. Although the NATIONAL attention to these issues is great, if the average witness can't see it for themselves, they will continue to stubbornly deny it is a serious problem, or even "laugh it off" as a lie perpertrated by the evil media controlled by Satan, who uses "evil apostates" to propel His agenda. I'm not saying this won't have an effect, or has'nt had an effect on the general rank and file in my area. But throwing out terms like "pedophile paradise" to describe what goes on at the average Kingdom Hall, just rings hollow to most witnesses, and lacks credibility to the great majority that can't see that for themselves. We have to treat the witnesses with fragile hands, because they ARE fragile individuals, and can be very defensive about what they have believed to be the truth all their lives. Their pride also comes into play. So if we are to effect ACTUAL CHANGE, and that is the general goal,we may need to adjust our "theocratic war strategy" a little bit.

i've seen a few posts where someone states that they want the org to "go to hell" or "burn in hell".
the org has always had a "likely" chain of events for the armegeddon, you know, babylon the great being destroyed and by the wild beast and the the wild beast turning on the witnesses, the start of the great tribulation, armegeddon, and then the thousand year reign (or something like that).
so... what would you like to see happen to the org?
