I was a regular pioneer for 5 years, never missed my time. I wasn't quite as creative as some who have posted here.
We met for service at 9a and got to the first door at 9:30a. This was always a previous not at home, so it was quick, not at home again. Then we would head out to territory in another county, no KH in the county, was previously unassigned. This was a one hour drive. Now 10:30a. When arriving, we would due a few houses, then break for coffee, at 11:00a, sometimes this would be back in home territory, another hour drive, but usually it was close in the territory. This was always extended beyond 15 minutes, but always counted time as we would leave a couple mags somewhere. Then back to territory for a few more houses. It is 11:30 or 11:45a. A few more houses, or one house, then back to KH, one hour drive back. Arrive at KH, 12:45p head to return visit. After return visit, ask car group if they have any more return visits. If there are no responses, keep driving until someone comes up with one, this lasts to about 2:00p. Now it is bible study time, head to old folks home, they always tolerate this kind of thing and welcome the visit. "Study" with 93 years old, who can not hear, or read, from 2:15p-3:00p. Head back to KH, drop off afternoon field service group, do one last return visit before returning home, ending time at 3:30p. This counts as 6 hours. I needed to get 90 a month. So this process was repeated 4 days a week. Sunday afternoon, Friday and Thursday were spent doing cleaning work. Of course this was the only work any of us were qualified for as no one had any education, except from the Watchtower and Awake!
Upon return home, get out home school materials, all self taught as parents who were also raised JW do not have any higher education. Look into math books that you are failing the courses and have no one to help you with..... But of course, this does not matter as the system will end soon. In the meantime you will find a wonderful Bethelite brother who will marry you and the two of you can pioneer together. Even though this is a step down for him, to leave Bethel, he will make this sacrifice for you. He will accept his new position as a regular pioneer elder with his new assignment in a congregation where the need is great. The two of you will live off the charity of the local congregation in your little trailer parked behind the new kingdom hall, that you helped build last weekend. But this is all temporary as the system will end soon, and you will have a beautiful home in the new system. If you would like to see a picture of it, you can look in the "Live Forever" book.
Looking back, I can not imagine this life, but this was all I knew.
