thank you for all the kindness and many interesting discussions over the years.
i wish you all well in the future and the decisions you make.

i do.. what does the soceity actually say about them?
(i know some the members of the gb use them) .
what do you think about using them at meetings?
From what I have seen from stallholders on the streets in NSW Australia they always have tablets or iphones with them and always looking at them as opposed to the person passing by that may be looking for ' truth'
head down and mobile in hand they look up because a bystander interrupted them. " why are you looking at your fone all the time" they exclaim' the app helped an angel find someone looking for truuf.. (someone looking for truth.)
and in the meantime they are counting false hours.
so i waz reading the august 15 wt study article, elisha saw fiery chariots, do you?
and it made me think about this forum.
if you remember, syria was hunting god's prophet, elisha.
I admit i only read your post briefly....the responces i contemplated.
There is a differance between reality and spirituality, its up to you 'stand for pure worship'
Why are you here if not looking for answers to your own questions.
Your fighting the inevitable, godspeed to you
okay, i never went to university , or had a college education, though i`m damn sure that "truth" is "truth" and it never changes.. if you" beleived "something was the truth in the past and now found out it was not correct , you cant say it was an" old " truth ,it must have been wrong/false reasoning in the first place......so it was never really the truth.. sure you can be aware of a "new" truth something you never knew beforehand , though whether you knew it or not ,it has always been a truth.
example:the earth was the centre of the universe ,beleived as a truth.........that beleif was false , it was not an old truth.. if their was something you beleived before as true and you now find it wasnt true , then it was false / untrue .. their is no such thing as an "old truth " and a "new truth" that is apparently accepted by jehovahs witnesses .. if jehovahs witnesses were as honest as they profess , then they would acknowledge when they make adjustments to their beleifs/doctrines that they were wrong in their initial understanding of said scriptures instead of passing it off as old truths or new light.. i was a witness for 33 years before it became obvious something was just not right with this religion and it took another 10-12 years before i found this site , that set me free.
so i ask , is it an iq level ?
Considering the time the St James' version of the bible came out it was only those rich enough to learn to read and decipher latin or greek or german....whatever language it came in at that time. (not ordinary mens language)
and just as we do today copy and paste without thinking.... so do our earlier ancestors , just copying and not thinking. no intelligence required.
there is nothing new under the sun blah blah etc.....
.
how old is this man?
any one have more information on him?.
LOL you guys
I am privately hoping this isnt his wife, look at him....
Where could we search to find out if it is his actual wife instead of an anonymous woman photobombing herself into his pic
the pic came from a reliable source(as they say in main street media)
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/06/us/a-top-mormon-leader-acknowledges-the-church-made-mistakes.html?_r=0.
i wonder when the gb will do this.....
David Splaine mentioned briefly in regard to earlier translations in the historic AGM presentation
"The original NWT is a masterful, wonderful translation. We should use it for reference. For our meetings, service and study, we should use the revised."
"The brothers who used the wrong application of these scriptures did not get their ideas out of thin air. Sometimes even in our publications we've made mistakes. The new revision will help everyone, even those who prepare spiritual food."
he slipped that in very quitely
it's not often we can share some good news where a bad situation has progressive jws come to the rescue and ignoring the elders jedi-mind-meld tricks!.
how often did you see jehovah witness elders or friends, servants, older men or the wisdom of the sisters who were pass the bloom of their youth give advice to kids thinking about getting married?
would you feel sick if the elders knew the woman you were going to marry was mentally ill, currently she had her depression and hallucinations under control because she was taking hard core medications?
the world according to the borg....she is sinning she is not paying her marital dues. find the scripture its in there somewhere
some of this will not be new to those of you who read other people's notes, but i bet there are a few new bits for you here, so i've provided a user-friendly table of contents, as an homage to the contents that appear before each book of the bible in the new nwt.
i might remember more highlights later, as i'm rather tired right now, but this is what i can recall off the top of my head.. contents (use of quote marks in this section is facetious; these are not actual quotes).
"say, did you notice that 2014 is the 100th anniversary, people?".
my highlight was how everyone was told to not post the information on the internet because you will spoil the surprise for the brothers and sisters who weren't invited and its grey
david splain "using delightful words and accurate words of truth.
" presented his talk at the agm.
they have revised the interpretation of leviticus 5:1. leviticus 5:1 old nwt "now in the case that a soul sins in that he has heard public cursing...blah blah..".
thanks love

Julia i was assuming due to the way the speaker announced that cursing wasn't a swear word 'a profanity'. I know one shouldn't assume but i found it interesting that they felt obliged to mention this in the talk. While i am assuming i still think they may go this way with their new interpretation "If someone sins because he has failed to testify after receiving notice to testify as a witness regarding what he has observed or learned, he is to be held responsible." And I assumed because it is an american religion the cursing meant swearing.
I was quoting the GB member who gave the talk in regards to the quote "its not about profanity'
Profanity (also called bad language, strong language, foul language, swearing or cursing) is a subset of a language's lexicon that is considered [by whom?] to be strongly impolite or offensive. It can show a desecration or debasement of someone or something, or show strong or intense emotion. Profanity can take the form of words, expressions, gestures (such as flipping the middle finger), or other social behaviours that are construed or interpreted as insulting, rude, vulgar, obscene, obnoxious, foul, desecrating, or other forms. konceptual99 in australia cursing has a completely different meaning. It means cursing someone like wishing them bad luck or some kind of voodoo or spell put on a person.
To me it just confirms this religion is completely made in the US of A
