UBM strategies: Befriend the KH outcasts
by Check_Your_Premises inin the spirit of jgnat's strategies, and her "making friends" post:.
i have noticed that the kh has a heirarchy.
there are the elders families, and young couples that everyone wants to do things with because they have all these things in common.

, what C_Y_P and I are trying to do is develop a focused, calculated strategy of recovery. We're not talking random acts of kiss-ass here. I am ready to stand by the approach because frankly, it's working.
That doesn't mean it will work for everybody. Sometimes a frank analysis of the marriage will show up fatal flaws and sometimes the kindest thing we can do to walk away.
I believe C_Y_P is on the cusp of snatching his wife out of the jaws of the WTBTS. I've already won; I'm on mop-up detail. Others are on their final ropes and evaluating whether the marriage is salvageable at all.
I do hope it works for CYP and others but others have to realize it will not work for many and thinking that if many of us nonjws work harder at our relationship things will change, Scapegoat ? it takes two to make it work and when there is only one trying and are up against millions i find it hard to blame it on a Scapegoat.
Walk away ,yes for some but others are not ready to give up the fight.I am sure some have other problems in their lives as far as marriage and yes they may blame it on the JWS but why add fuel to what may have been worked out.

Ok, there is truth to that statement. The time when everyone makes time to get together is on the holidays. But that doesn't mean the person making this statement couldn't do more THEMSELVES to make the relationship better. By scapegoating, and making the JW the only cause of the problem, it keeps them from taking responsibility for themselves. That is significant, because we are the only people we have any control over... if we are lucky!
Couldn't do more themselves to better their relationship? Oh please ,a person is in a fight of their lives as their loved one is being control and manipulated by a cult . We are dealing with a person/persons with many personalities that the WT has installed in many and we are in the fight of our lives . What shall we do to make our relationships better ,,kiss their ass ? Done that and it backfired. As far as using the JW problem as a scapegoat , it is not mearly a scapegoat but our lives that are being destroyed because we love someone held captive.

The Past! the past!
by joelbear inits easy to either demonize the past or think of the past as "the good ol days".
both ways of thinking distract us from making realistic and hopeful goals for our future.
thinking about the past should be relegated to the days when we truly have run out of physical energy and are in the resting days of our life.. think about now.

The past is also a learning tool as to what not to do and not to repeat the mistakes you made in the past ,but to remember them and move forward.

I'm not sure if this is the case everywhere, but the last few years I was a JW UBM's were not invited to congregation picnics or other such functions. Many times it was announced from the platform that these "get-togethers" were ONLY for dedicatedâ„¢, baptized JWs and their believing children
You are so right. My JW husband would get invites to wedding and picnics and my name was never on them ,,,not that i would ever attend ,but it was like they were trying to let me know i was not wanted and the feeling is mutual.

Why would God need worship?
by Vormek2.8 inwhy would an all knowing master of space and time feel the irrepressible need to be adored by mere insects (relatively speaking), and indeed punish them in the most absolute of terms if they fail in this task?
indeed it makes god seem very human, although rather immaturely so.
we expect such behavior from schoolyard bullies, megalomaniac dictators and small children who demand adoration from their beaten dogs.
