A JW just telephoned me... heh heh heh...
by Quotes init must be the end-of-the-mont-scramble to get time in.
i just got off the phone with a gentleman who, talking approx 1000 words per minute, so that i could almost not understand what he said, identified himself as "navin", and wanted to "share a scripture with me".
he clearly did not know who i am or my history, or my website hobby.

When i was first baptized my husband and i were invited many times to a home of a so called. annointed. Every time we were there he was drunk and i mean drunk. He loved his wine and kept saying that it was in the bible to consume wine. Living with a drunk for a mother i said enough and never went back.

I can't answer you're question but i do remember answering alot of questions before being baptized ,which i could not answer but was still baptized. Did not seem to matter what i knew as long as i was giving over my mind.

This same article was in our Milwaukee/ Sentinal. It was great and my jw husband read it without even a flinch, no emotion, nothing. It was like it was just another article in the paper . It made me sick to see this robot do what he is programed to do.

How have you changed since finding this forum?
by happehanna in.
my friends and daughters say that i am more relaxed and i seem happier in my own skin.
which is just great, but when i first started reading stuff here i was a quivering mess, i was in shock, but spending more time researching things are now slotting into place.. .

This forum has actually saved my life, for real. I was a sobbing ,depressed mess and my time was running out and i was looking forward to the relief. I am married to a verably abusive jw. With no income of my own and no way out ,kids all grown i had reached my end. My son's girl friend was looking into the web for jw information and found ,Freeminds and told me to check it out. I was so shocked and discusted and became more enraged at this cult knowing my husband and i were involved in such crap, then bring our kids in to it. By this time i had been out for years and stopped my kids from going at the same time ,but could never get my cult minded husband to see. I started looking at exjw sites and found one ,i logged on hoping for some support somewhere.

Making a smooth transition out of the org... is it possible?

Welcome Surfacing, i was in that same situation long ago ,i was fading but my husband was not. He would call the cult elders to talk to me,they would call on the phone ,come to the door anything to confront me. At first i was very polite and would tell them i am not sure what i wanted to do and they would leave only to call and return again unannounced. Finally the last time they came over i had enough. I told them go away and never come back and said tell all you're buddies the same. So if you are nice it is a invitation for them to come back or call ,if you tell them to leave you alone( and mean it) in a stern voice ,showing you mean it they will probably not be back.
