Hate implies you still have emotion for that person. I think if your *truly* hate someone, your emotion for them is dead. You could care less whether they live or die. I have this feeling for my ex-husband. He is dead to me. If I found out he died tomorrow in some heinous way, I'd be like "Eh? Who cares?"

however, there is a small list.
it used to contain only two people, but a third is making it's way on that list.

Northern Lights?

they were quite spectacular, horizon to horizon east-west, and from the northern horizon to straight above.
mainly greenish and stringy looking, and then flickering like gentle sheet lightning.

The local news has pictures from viewers that saw them last night. Anxiously running outside every few minutes to see if I can catch a glimpse. We live on the north side of town where there's very little city lights. Saw the beginning of them a couple of years ago and husband (whose FROM Michigan) said it was an anomoly and to come inside. Later on, I heard there was a spectacular show that I MISSED! Hope to see them before I go to bed tonight.

Already it starts.
by Fleur inmy grandmother hasn't even been put to rest yet and already, my mother starts with "you know that grandma's greatest wish was for you to get reinstated.".
then, one of my siblings tells me that another of my siblings not only said she wouldn't come to grandma's memorial if i went but also that sibling who called me should not still be talking to me; even though i called her to tell her that grandma died.. i am facing the fact that my family may not even give me details of the memorial directly because they won't want me to go.
i don't know if i want to go to another funeral that is really just a commercial for the wts instead of talking about the person who is gone at all.

I feel your pain.
My grandmother died 4 1/2 years ago and I loved her dearly. She was the only one of my JW family that did not shun me after I was DF'd. In fact, she stopped going to the KH several years before her dementia really set in. In my heart, I think she felt as if she had enough.
The day I found out that she had died, I lost it. My mom called me and told me that I didn't "have" to come to the funeral, but didn't tell me I couldn't come, either. I went, with my husband and sons in tow, and faced up to those awful people. She was MY gramma and I'll be damned if any of THOSE people were going to tell me I didn't belong there.
I hope she finds the life she deserved on the other side, and I hope your grandmother does, too.

Wild Turkey or Jim Beam?
by under74 ini think i'm partial to wild turkey but i do like jim beam (black label).
i used to like jack daniels but they've lowered the proof so i refuse to buy it now.
one of my friends is convinced they both taste like piss...i don't quite understand that...i mean they both do what they're supposed and they don't taste bad to me....any preferences out there?

There is a park near where I work that my husband and eat lunch at during the summer. On the way, there was a KH. Just recently, we went by and the KH was not a KH anymore, but rather some kind of a Methodist Church. I thought it was interesting that they allowed another church to buy it out.
Wonder what happened to all those happy Dubs from the Caledonia, Michigan Kingdom Hall?

I own the world's fattest ShihTzu! His name is Gonzo, but we just call him Bean. The name mutated from Gonzo Garbonzo Bean. For reasons I don't quite understand, my husband and I always re-name our pets.
Bean is a snuffly little dog and we love him dearly. Your dog will bring you many years of happiness and laughter!

as a stay-at-home mom, i can occasionally find a few minutes every few days to play on the computer, but the amount of activity on this forum during us working hours is pretty surprising.
folks from other parts of the world notwithstanding, how are you american members able to post during work hours?.
