i’ve heard some people praise him for his zeal against president trump.
others have not been so praiseworthy toward the california congressman.. today he was so concerned that trump might be so emboldened now that he has won acquittal, that he suggests that trump might make a deal with russia and sell them the state of alaska.
😐.

there was a babylon bee or onion spoof article a few weeks back claiming the democrats would lose their own caucus and ... well, they managed to do it for real.. apparently they can't count their own votes, their app and process is now steeped in corruption (created by a company called 'shadow' that has taken money from multiple candidates as well as the dnc and has links to clinton) and multiple candidates have declared themselves the winner.
biden has apparently done so badly that he's going to court to block the results being announced.
no estimate of when they will be released even.. how do they come up with this ... and what does it mean for the election results where they oversee the counts?.
I think these "caucus things" are over with.
Republicans had problems with them in 2012.
Dems had problems with them in 2016 and now 2020.
Quite frankly, I never understood them anyway. You go to some school gymnasium and move around and get into groups until you all agree on someone.
It's not like it's a real vote on anyone.
Personally, I think it's a waste of time.

so a few things .... apparently it's superbowl 54, and also the centennial of the sport.
erm ... i'm not a mathematician, but aren't there 46 superbowls missing?.
americans claim that uk sport ("soccer", aka real football) is too low scoring.
I think the word "Football" has no real relevance from an international standpoint. Be it American, Australian or International.
American Football has very large people, 200-350 pounds (90-160 kilos) smashing into each other at full speed, standing up, getting concussions, but still able to stand up, look normal and spit into the opponents' face as if nothing happened. Otherwise you are considered weak.
International football (soccer) takes the angle that if someone touches you, you fall down and grab some part your body and look like you need to get to the emergency room of the nearest hospital.
These are different games, mindsets and rules.

The Latin halftime show was basically softcore porn.

Do you live in a flyover state ???
If you feel so offended, why didn't you just turn off the TV ???
Or else, maybe you could have just saved up and bought a TV with a remote control that has an OFF button and then run to the bathroom.

and it came to pass, as they fled from before israel, and were in the going down to bethhoron, that the lord cast down great stones from heaven on them to azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of israel slew with the sword.. .
looks like the amorites came to the battle only wearing helmets.
Perhaps they were not wearing government-approved helmets.

i could never understand how the best football (soccer) players are allowed to participate in these things called friendlies.
aren't the teams and owners afraid of losing their investments of 10's of millions of dollars (euros) to injury?
and it appears that teams just make up their own schedules.. in american football, there is no possible way a team would allow an extra game.
It also can help with match fitness / sharpness as well as generate revenue from ticket sales.
Simon ...
I agree, ticket sales are a big issue. I think the culture down here in South Florida also plays a big role. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) missed a "friendly" here in Miami against Napoli and so many people were upset.
However, the stadium (Hard Rock) that holds about 65,000 was still full. In October, Chile played Peru to another sold-out friendly.
To get 65,000 for a pre-season football game in the US you could have a half-time show with both Shikira and J-Lo pole dancing in the nude and I still don't think you would fill the stadium if the game didn't mean anything.
Just the way we think here I guess.

In American football, there is no possible way a team would allow an extra game. Even in what we call the pre-season in our various sports, there is a limited, pre-determined schedule and that is it. That applies to all of the major sports.
Even in the games, the better players will be playing very limited time if at all. Even most of the NBA (basketball) owners don't really want their good players playing in the Olympics or anything where injury is possible. Baseball allows the pitchers only a couple of innings in a 9 inning games and they are out.
Pre-season games here are used primarily to look at new players and then give veterans some time to "warm up" prior to the actual season beginning.
I just never really understood why international football takes the risk.

it was announced today that we will have a special weekend meeting next month.
it will be 3 hours long and will include some streamed content.. no explanation was given as to what the meeting will be about, only that it will be exciting and we will not want to miss it..
Maybe they will do the thing that a lot of organizations now do showing some poor child with flies buzzing around his head and asking for $19 per month so these children can receive much-needed I-Pads.
"Brothers, take this matter into prayerful consideration. Your gift of only $19 per month can assure the spirituality of these children."

Super Bowls only originated 54 years ago, although the league is now 100 years old this year.
Prior to Super Bowls, there was an Championship game and that was the end of it.
To keep this short, back in the 1960's several teams wanted to join the NFL but the NFL did not want them (some were smaller-market teams). So they created their own league, called the American Football League. After a couple of years, the NFL got pissed because the AFL began drafting some of the college players that the NFL wanted and paying them big bucks.
So they agreed on a joint venture and draft players together and play a Championship type of game, later known as the Super Bowl, between the two leagues. The first was in 1967, although they both operated as separate leagues.
After the AFC Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets won two Super Bowls (3 and 4), it was agreed that the leagues should merge in 1980.
So the beginning of the Super Bowl era can still be remembered by some people here. But the NFL as a league began 100 years ago.
[As an additional note: This is similar in some ways to what happened to the National Basketball Association (NBA) around that same time. There was an upstart league call the American Basketball Association (ABA). They too began offering big bucks to players coming out of college. One very notable one was Julius Erving, known as Dr. J. The leagues eventually merged and the NBA retained 4 of the stronger teams from the ABA].
