If I have the volume turned on, I generally listen to NBC and CNN.
I also have found that I can watch Fox News without the volume on and really enjoy it. The visuals are far better.

recently a friend and i were having a conversation about the news media.
he is a democrat but he’s also a very reasonable person.
i’ve known him for many years.

i have never been invited/requested/applied to any international convention, other than it happening to be our own convention in new york city where we were already assigned (i think back and maybe this happened two times or so when i was growing up).. anyway, people here keep commenting about the cost to attend; the inflated airfares, rooms, transportation, etc.. does anyone have some actual numbers to provide?
i realize that the cost of attending a convention in a different country will be affected by some variations in airfare from the departure city but generally how much do these things cost?
are they comparable to a tour from an expedia, travelocity or other travel site?.
And what's to prevent anyone from simply booking their own trip and showing up at the convention?
Room 215 ...
Absolutely nothing. Face it, over 99% of the people attending an "International Convention" are just the people who would be going anyway, those whose congregations are assigned there.
Of course some are the locals who volunteer with the tours, entertainment, coordinate local activities, etc.
But it's just that 1% who actually are the ones "invited" as delegates (I guess they still call them delegates).

when any mass shooting happens is it the president’s fault?
i’m talking over the last few decades..

THANK YOU for being so unequivocal and clear.
I agree totally with your comments. I would only add, at you touched on, that if either party has a history of this behavior or it occurs again, then at the very least suspension would be in order if not simply termination.
I think the fact that the ones calling the boss a MF are "new" employees could work either for or against them. It could work for them in the context that the boss should know better and be held to a higher standard. It could work against them by the fact they are new with little or no track record with the company and from a practical standpoint, easier to fire.

1). The workers (4 women of color) call the boss a MF for being a racist.

I guess I was not clear. I was just presenting a scenario and asking how a company would handle this situation in the workplace. I was not in any way attempting to add personal bias. I was just asking how this would be handled in your place of employment.

@Rubadub - your poll doesn't necessarily suggest that the boss' behaviour is racist, instead it may suggest that political correctness has permeated most aspects of our lives, including the working environment.
U N H E ...
There was no mention in my poll about the boss being a racist. I was just polling based on the facts as presented.

Let's take an unbiased (If that is possible) poll on what would happen in a workplace based on the above scenarios:
1). The workers (4 women of color) call the boss a MF for being a racist.
2). The boss gets angry and tells the 4 women to go back where they came from.
Everyone in the office hears this.
What would likely occur at YOUR office?

I swear: if Trump stopped tweeting today, his approval rating would go up 10 points.
BoC ....
That's why I am keeping my mouth shut about Trump's tweets. Let him tweet .... tweet .... tweet. Tweet in the morning, the afternoon, the evening, all night.
The tweets never go away!!! Trump is just writing the Dem's campaign ads for 2020. The more he talks and tweets, the better for the Dems.

(so as not to hijack the tariff thread, i thought this would be better to keep separate.).
i guess my economics and finance classes in college have not prepared me to understand the latest round of tariffs/taxes that trump is instituting.. i really don't understand who is "paying" these fees and where they are going.
first of all a tariff is a tax and anyone who doesn't believe that needs to invest in a bridge in new york city.. to keep this as simple as i can, i'm thinking of a $1,000 refrigerator that i am buying.
Do you need the services of a professional personnel who can help you spy and track your cheating partner ... call him on +1(617) 402-2260 .

I'm not sure what your comment has to do with my missing $214 but if you think my calling the number will get my money back it's worth a try. Maybe they have the rebate forms.

Pres. Trump does not understand this and apparently no one is willing to explain it to him.

When you look at the unprecedented number of department heads, advisers, etc. that he has either fired, pushed out or have quit, I can see the hesitance of anyone speaking up and trying to explain something to him that he does not want to hear.
