  finding that a tax-exempt religious organization failed to meet the requirements of the statute providing for exemptions from the motor fuel tax for exempt organizations, a new york state administrative law judge has upheld the department of taxation and finance’s denial of a refund.

  However, the ALJ found that Watchtower could have qualified for the exemption if, instead of accepting delivery into intermediary repositories and then fueling its equipment, it had directed its supplier to directly fuel the construction vehicles.

  This makes no sense to me.

  If you purchase off-road fuel, how does the State expect you to get it into the vehicles. The law as written makes no sense to me. So you can buy the fuel but can't use a nozzle to dispense it? Do you pour it into 5 gallon cans and then pour it in? I still don't get it.

  How would a boat at a marina get the off-road diesel into the tank without a nozzle?

  Another High School Shooting ... Pleasantville, New Jersey

  last evening (15 nov 2019) at a high school football game in new jersey, another shooting.

  "fortunately," the injuries are apparently not life threatening.. that's at least the second shooting this week.

  if all the students were armed, they could have just shot the guy.. we need more guns, not less.

  Imagine what the death toll of the bystanders would have been if a school full of armed teens all began shooting as soon as they heard the gunshot?

  Kids have 2nd Amendment rights too. Remember, the more guns we have the safer we will be. Just ask the NRA.

  Another High School Shooting ... Santa Clara California

  at least at the moment it looks like no one is dead, but 6 injured (9:00 am pacific time 14 nov 2019).. i don't know if the school allows students to carry weapons, but many will think it would be a good idea for the students to carry concealed weapons to provide personal protection.. we shall see.. rub a dub.

  Excellent questions. How does the environment change so much when I drive across the border to Canada? Don't Canadians have access to violent video games, on-line porn, bullying or whatever else people say is ruining the society? The last I looked, Germany, England, Norway you mentioned and other countries in Europe have the same access to these things also.

  I can't believe people will blame everything else except the fact that there is easy access to guns in the US

  Easy access to guns, at one time, is not the answer. When I was growing up, guns were far easier to purchase than they are today. You went to your local hardware store or sporting goods store, put some cash on the counter, and walked away with a gun.If you were buying it under age, and the guy behind the counter knew your family and you said you were buying it as a gift for your father, you would walk away with the gun.

  Access to guns is not simply the answer. I think the reason WHY people buy them needs to be examined.

  When I was in middle/high school in the late 70's (about two hours outside of New York City, a rural area), my neighbor and I would ride our bikes to the local hardware store with .22 rifles on slings over our shoulders or just hold them on the handlebars.

  We would stop at the local hardware store and each buy 2 or 3 packs (50 cartridges) of .22 shorts or longs, ride to the gravel pit, shoot cans or whatever else was around, get back on our bikes and ride home. Once the guy at the hardware store knew you and your parents, age was not an issue.

  If a kid did that today, he would be in jail. The hardware store would be out of businesss. Police would block the road off, fingerprint your bike, put crime scene tape around everything and you would be in a juvenile facility for who knows how long. With all the guns we had (only .22 calibers of course for kids), even at 14, 15, 16, years old, I can't think of anyone who would consider taking a gun to school and shoot anyone.

  You may have gotten into a fist fight with a bully sometimes, get a black eye, a bloody nose or exchange the favor, but the thought of using a gun never came to anyone's mind.

  It's a different world today.
