there are many good universities in the central part of the us but why do so many innovative things, i.e.
silicon valley, seem to happen on one side of the country or the other (california, new york, massachusetts to name a few)?
even what is considered the most high tech area in the center of the country, austin texas, is a huge liberal bastion.
put a modern man and an indigenous native in the same environment from 1850 ten see who has a better IQ.
road to nowhere ...
I have the highest respect for indigenous natives but they did not create the internet. Al Gore did. Without Al Gore, I doubt we would be having this conversation.

San Fran and NYC to name a few are becoming the shitholes of the country.
Jimmy ...
For some odd reason, employers want to pay people who live in what you term as "shitholes" more in a year than others would earn in 3, 4, 5 or more years in "non-shithole" places.
If things are so "shitty" there, why are median home prices in Manhattan around $1,000,000 dollars and San Francisco about $1,300,000.
Jimmy, yes they are cheap shitholes.
Tell us about the median price of homes in your neighborhood. Come on, tell us.

All of the smart people leave where they grew up and end up in the cities.

It’s harder to do business in a small town as there are issues with talent and supply chains.

because he voiced his opinion on roger stone’s recommended sentencing as being grossly unfair, the democrats are talking about impeachment.. do they really think that impeaching him will mean that a democrat will get into the white house??.

sides, if the popular vote was all that was necessary we'd have Hillary Clinton in the White House. Certainly you wouldn't want that.....no matter how much you hate The Orange One.

That's a tough question to answer. But in the end, I would take Hillary.
I never thought I would say that, but for me, Trump is an embarrassment as a person.
That question you asked is like getting an enema. Your two choices are either hot sauce or gravel.

What does.Liberal or conservative have to do with it?

Look at the map. The "coasts" tend to be liberal, that all I was saying.
If I was planning on doing a high tech company or pharmaceutical start-up, I would likely not pick a State in flyover country. There are of course many exceptions.
That's all.

Think of all of the innovations, especially technical and informational, that were conceived or inspired on schools on the "coasts."
Why does "thinking outside the box" seem to develop on the "coasts" ?

We have this thing in the US called the Electoral College. It dates back to the time when only land-owners could vote and giving sparsely populated States more rights.
Having land (flyover States) counts more than what the overall population votes for is just a throwback to a different time.
One's house with 50 acres in a rural State and two people count more than a city block with 250 people in a populated State when it comes to the Presidential election.
It's just the way it works.
