The Watchtower's Great Game of "Jenga" and Exposure
by metatron injenga is a simple game in which wooden blocks are neatly piled up - and then removed, one by one, until one person ( the person who loses.
the game) makes the pile collapse.. it is tempting to see the organization in the same way - making small but significant "removals" over time.
they pull out food service.

jayjay78
dont really see the organization as collapsing - more like streamlining..
happening in all organisations that use print or media to generate income - look at the NY Times, Hollywood..

Looking forward to going to Memorial this year!
by kpop ini have some tricks to play.
i know it may sound childish but i feel that creating havoc and forcing the memorial to be postponed will be the highlight of the night!
wish me luck!.

why not just respect peoples right to do what they want, where they want..
i have vivid memories as a kid going to the memorial and 'apostates' turning up and trying to disrupt it.
it just reinforced to every witness in attendance to have zero contact with ex-members.

Do they still do the Written Review?
by Funchback ini left in 2006. i seem to vaguely recall that the written review was no more but i can't say for sure.. so, do they still do it?
was (is) it a waste of time?
i used to hate it..

i used to like the written review..was something different.
one of the rare times i found it easy to put my hand up and answer. (true - false questions)

interesting question
by jayjay78 infirstly i'm a df'd witness.. i was in the org all my life.. vividly remember out witnessing as a kid in the 80s with my mum and having apostates jumping houses before we could get to them ..all the way up the street.. remember it because the guy looked like tom baker from dr who - frizzy hair and long colourful scarf.. i think the people at the doors were made more curious by them actually, so when we knocked ,they were inclined to have a listen.. anyway i'm out and cant see myself ever going back, because my family has fully shunned me..and even if i was to go back and be a member..i don't think i could forgive them...totally scarred me.. anyway my question is :.
if you were head of this religion and you wanted to keep it clean and pure etc..how would you deal with people who delib broke the rules?.
no shunning of course..but whats the alternative?

great replies - thanks very much.
yes I agree, it should be a personal decision.
but I do wonder what would happen if ones deemed as 'bad association' were disruptive during the meetings etc... then the elders would have to get something like a restraining order from a court of law.. so it eventually becomes just like a disfellowshipping I guess.
the only difference is the police would be involved and not the elders.

firstly I'm a df'd witness.
I was in the org all my life.
vividly remember out witnessing as a kid in the 80s with my mum and having apostates jumping houses before we could get to them ..all the way up the street.
remember it because the guy looked like tom baker from dr who - frizzy hair and long colourful scarf.
I think the people at the doors were made more curious by them actually, so when we knocked ,they were inclined to have a listen.
anyway I'm out and cant see myself ever going back, because my family has fully shunned me..and even if I was to go back and be a member..i don't think I could forgive them...totally scarred me.
anyway my question is :
if you were head of this religion and you wanted to keep it clean and pure etc..how would you deal with people who delib broke the rules?
no shunning of course..but whats the alternative??
