  Leaving the National Guard

  well.... after alot of thought and consideration, i have decided to withdraw from the kansas national guard.. but, i will be going into the army as an active duty soldier instead.

  i am requesting to be assinged to ft. buchannon in san juan, puerto rico (home) though its doubtful i will get that station.

  either way, wherever they send me will be fine.. just thought i would keep you all up to date as to my goings on and all.

  Through everything... do you feel that you learned soemthing?

  i am new to the board and have read countless gripes and pokes at "the organization" but i fail to find one interesting question.. in preface... i was disfellowshiped myself over 5 years ago.

  in that time, i had done much searching, visited many churches and faithes.. going to some for as short as one session and some as long as 6 - 8 months.

  after i felt my search was in vein i stopped attempting to go to these shurches all together.. i never forgot how to pray through.

  Oh, and I "met" Jehovah. Now that was something precious and important. But I'm not at all sure my understanding of God is what he really is all about...I think the Witnesses pervert his personality in order to put fear into people. Too much emphasis on how he's going to destroy billions at Armegeddon.

  Yes, I actually read some of the Bible. As a former Catholic, I had never done this before.

  But I have to be honest: I don't think I got much else out of my experience. I've seen more love displayed at an AA meeting than at the KH.

  A question for those churchgoing ones...forgiveness

  this is in reference to the comments that kgb made on the thread i started yesterday about the molester who was crushed underneath a car.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/54218/1.ashx.

  he talked of forgiveness of murderers, molesters, rapists, etc.

  i know that many churchgoes feel the same way about this.. my question is, if god can forgive murderers, rapists, etc., then what about those who don't believe in god, who don't have 'faith'?

  I had a revelation like that when my boy was a teen. "God Loves You" is lame for a depressed young man having trouble fitting in. My love, however, was immediate and right there. I was the best example of God's love my son was going to ever understand, so I better do a good job of it.

  WHAT IS YOUR PET PEVE?

  what is it that really irritates you ,i mean the most annoying ,thing that when you see it or hear it you just clench your teeth,we all have them so let's hear yours.mine is religious boasting.there is this home builder that advertises on tv and says his crap then says we are a christien company.oh yes , because he said that i would trust him more then anyone else,he must have higher standards.

  (ya right).or those people who advertise with bumper stickers of their religion,and yes the freaking door bell ringers trying to push their crap on me.isn't it what you feel inside?why advertise to everyone?does it make you feel more important or more religious?because of the attempt to show me that you have faith does not make me feel i could trust you.

  this is just one of my irritants and hope not do offend,everyone has the right.

  Slow people really drive me nuts. Get a sense of urgency, you know???? We don't have all damned day.....(yes, it comes from living in a very fast paced area)

  People who, with a line of 30 persons behind them at a cash register, have to get the frigging exact change for their purchase ("Oh, I know I have three cents in here somewhere".) They then spend a few minutes looking through their handbags or pockets for the ever-elusive few pennies they need to pay for their items with the exact amount. Many times I offer the stinking change just to get the line moving again. I am almost always turned down. ("Thank you, but I KNOW I have three cents, I just KNOW I do, now where is it????")....Another half minute more of fumbling around...

  SHEESH! Just give the cashier a twenty and get over it already!!!!!

  Silly, I know. But it drives me crazy.

  I'm very manic today, forgive me. I'll try not to post too much. New medication.....

  just curious.

  i get the impression from reading posts that a great deal are.

  i also noticed while i was studying with them that virtually everybody has/had a relative that was disfellowshipped or knew someone who is/was.

  Honestly, Americans, when was the last time (if ever) you said ANY of the above?????

  I know I never have.

  The only time I have ever "lost" it on this board was when someone made a gross generalization about Americans. It really sets me off. Keep in mind, however, that this is most likely a reaction to the many rude remarks my English ex-husband made about Americans while we were married. (And no, he never went back to England and no, he never will. Which renders his oh-so-erudite (in his opinion) "observations" (barely disguised slurs, in actuality) impotent (in my opinion)).
