What will you do when the Great Tribulation Begins?
by Malkiel ini've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.
right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).
barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

There's been some CHANGES made - and, apparently, not everyone is pleased
by berylblue inseems likes i'm annoying others and hurting feelings on quite a few occassions when i post here.. oh, well.

When I first came here, I was a people-pleasing wimp. I express my real opinions now and I'll be damned if I ever go back to silencing myself just to fit in. I don't care if I fit in - I never have, really - sometimes it bothers me but I'd rather be true to myself that dissemble.
I'm sorry if I offend the well-meaning ones here; please understand that I'm finally finding my voice at age 52. I'm not going to pretend I'm something other than what I am.
I know the matter really isn't important enough to mention here and that no one really gives a rat's ass, but I wanted to say this - so I have. I can't go back to being the nice girl who takes everyone's shlt. I just can't. I realize this is only the internet but it's good practice for RL.

What kind of a funeral do you want?
by Princess Daisy Boo inso all this talk at the moment about funerals and stuff got me thinking... what kind of an exit party would i like?.
i reckon i would not want anything too formal, but i would want loads of people saying how great i was - i people to notice that i am no longer around, and be sad about it!
i want people to share good memories.

To people so self-absorbed that they would rather do the most destructive thing they can even when it confers no benefit to them that may appear as political correctness but to the rest of us it's just common decency. ------------ Derek, I'm hardly self-absorbed. Just because I'm finally voicing my opinions after being a people-pleasing wimp for so long does not mean I'm a bad person. If I want to be cremated, that hardly makes me a self-absorbed person lacking in common decency. I am considerate of others to a fault; I curtail my use of energy NOW in ways others would call crazy - and I'll be damned if I have to put aside the one thing for which I ask in order to save the earth ---- and I'm not convinced that it makes a big difference one way or the other. My question to you is: What do YOU do NOW - while ALIVE - to help out?

Cremation is not an eco-friendly way to go
So now we have to be politically correct even when we're dead? Plss on the environment.
I forgot - I also want bagpipes. What I'd like to do is have Scotland the Brave played, but with each verse, introduce a new instrument - one from each of my ancestors' ethnic groups. The Scottish bagpipes covers the Scottish-English, then I'll perhaps have Choctaw flute (this may be /difficult - may have to settle for percussion for Native American), mandolin (Italian) and I don't know what the hell to do for the German. Suggestions appreciated.
This may be difficult to do, but I think it would be a charming homage to those who went before me.

What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?
by minimus inwhen i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

I have it all planned; just need someone to execute.
I want to be cremated and tossed in the ocean; but prior to that, I want a ceremony which is nothing but music. My life in music. No talking, no words. I have carefully selected the songs.
THEN the traditional lunch at a very nice restaurant - I hope everyone gets good and drunk.

my god !!! and most of us accepted the council - gods' teeth! ------------ I didn't. My daughter kept dressing the way she wanted and the elder who told ME I was unfriendly and had a bad attitude (In actuality I had just given up on that congregation - my first congregation was a lot nicer and I have to state that I feel it's because the people were poor - no disrespect to your wife, Mini - I just don't think it's right to go out in service with a gazzillion diamond rings) - I asked him to leave my house and please not to come back.
