seldom do they draw the distinction between the majority (who are not peds) and the few who are.
perhaps we need to be more balanced when we comment on these things...dont cha think?.
If they can give a talk about fornication, adultery, drinking, apostasy, smoking, bad associations, dining with apostates, etc and then annouce a disfellowshipping (ergo we all know what YOU did) then why are they so adamant about protecting the privacy of child abusers?
Good point, Lady Lee. I would like to think that it's because the crime is so heinous, it is unspeakable. But I suspect that is not the case.

Not all accused child molesters are guilty
This is most certainly true.
There are always going to be those who are accused of this heinous crime who are not guilty. However, in the not too distant past, children and survivors were routintely disbelieved (if, indeed, they had the support and courage to come forth in the first place). Perhaps we have swung too far in the opposite direction (and perhaps not, I myself can't decide); but despite the fact that some are unjustly accused (and have their lives ruined as a result) I for one would never want to go back to the days when children's accusations were routinely ignored. The price the falsely accused pays is high, but the price survivors pay when they finally (if ever) summon the courage to come forth about their abuse, and are demeaned and scoffed at and ultimately dismissed, exhorbitant.
Even though I hurt deeply for innocent persons accused of this horrible crime, I bleed more for the children who have been victims.

ok so i am bored at work and probably someone else has commented on this but check this out:mike adams here: i enjoyed my work at brooklyn bethel, mountain farm and w.t.
farm 1974 to 1979...worked with steve watters and so many others, ...remember one big factory worker giving me some static at the table i was waiting on so i dumped the full gallon of milk on his head and cooled him off quick!
also worked nights as walking watchman, and days as moving & maintenance crewman, our crew consisted of seven guys all named "mike"...one poor watchman wasn't watching and stepped into an open elevator shaft down at the squibb bldg...used to snowboard from 124 down to squibb and at night almost ran down a couple of governing body members in the hallway from 124 to 107 on those furniture coasters...also made trash runs with "marcus stapletonius" and if anyone remembers the wierd sounds of loud toilet flushing and laughter emanating from somewhere in the towers at night, that was me and mike presutti, the dual-headed 'phantom of the towers' playing with recordings and loudspeakers out the windows.
This is hardly fluff....

i was in a car acident about 9 months ago and the lawyer handling my case sent me a form today to list my friends who could state what my condition was before the accident and after.
problem with that is i was a jw for close to 30 years and have been fading for about a year.
i couldn't get them to do that unless i made a come back to the meetings and i am too glad to be free to ever go back.
don't have any friends I can list

I am in somewhat the same situation. I do have one friend (non-JW), but I lost all my "friends" when I was DF.
