Gosh, there are so many new persons here; I feel terrible that I simply don't have the time to write to all of you. I'm really glad you're here, and appreciate all the questions/insights/smiles you bring to the board.

as some of you know i have been have a few health problems lately.. i went to the doctor today to pick up my application for a handicapped parking permit.
when we talked he said he would sign it for a year.. well he signed it as "permanent disability".
in one way this is good because if they don't figure out the problem and find a solution i won't have to keep applying for it.
Lady Lee,
You have been, and continue to be, an inspiration for me.
I do understand, somewhat, how you feel. My doctor wanted to put me on perm disability. I decided to fight it. Maybe it was a big mistake. I have clawed my way upward, starting with a terrible job at McDonalds. Sometimes I think I should have gone on disability.
I am fortunate in that I had a choice. It seems as though you did not.
All my love to you, Lady Lee. Please PM me if you'd like.

looks like i'm a libertarian:.
Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty.

a little birthday story....
Panda, I'm sorry about your parents. You must miss them so.
I miss my pretty, sweet mother a lot. She had her faults, but she was beautiful, beautiful.
alot of discussion referring to the new book released learning from the great teacher, and the scene of armageddon page.
what a pile of garbage, how could the society justify in publishing such pics.. if/when armageddon comes (which i doubt), it probaly would not take more than one minute.
i cannot see people running around screaming in terror, with their clothes torn and beating each other up, like the watchtower portrays, just another scare tactic for the watchtower.
Likewise, many people still believe in it. Not only that, they fear it.
Uh oh. I still believe.
But I'm starting to question.
I'm a Christian by accident of birth. It's what I was inculcated with. Or indoctrinated. However you choose to look at it.
Had I been born to a Muslim, or a Jew, a Buddhist or an atheist, my "training" (and, ultimately, cherished belief system) would be different. In some cases, radically so. Yet that would be the basis for my beliefs or, perhaps, the beliefs i would be starting to question. Perhaps questioning 48 years of non-belief in God. Or 48 years of non-belief in Jesus as a savior.
Sorry, not making much sense. It's hard to question 48 years of "Christian" thinking. I guess that's the point I'm trying to make.
i went to a convention last weekend, for one of my suppliers.
at one of the trainings, the speaker gave a quote from bertrand russell, that i thought was pretty profound: "i would never die for any of my beliefs, because i could be wrong.".
that just really hit me.

can't deal with all this undergrowth talk
It just trips my feet and tangles up my thoughts
You're trying to sell me your new faith
Tell me why you'd do it
And your hands are clenched
And you're talking low
With your eyes like flames
Your voice like snow
Someone dug a pit for you
and you fell right into it.
Tell me how the universe was meant to be
Take another sip of your cola
You be the colonel of the cavalry
I'll be Francis Ford Coppola
We'll go together through the jungle night
'Til the moon and stars fade out of sight
Waiting for the dawn to come
Here in Angola
I can't remember how you got this way
I can still recall you in a younger day
The earnestness still drips off you like butter
And you fling round words in a holy war
And you look so vague, but seem so sure
Don't you ever just want to break right down and stutter
Tell me how the universe was meant to be
Take another sip of your cola
You be the colonel of the cavalry
I'll be Francis Ford Coppola
We'll go together through the jungle night
'Til the moon and stars fade out of sight
Waiting for the dawn to come
Here in Angola
Ah, why don't you let it go
Ah, you'd be too wise to know
That time will get you anyway
It's at your door today.
I can't deal with these periscope views
And the caveman scrawl that you call news
Hey, why don't you make a not to cancel your next visit
Well, I knew that things were getting out of control
When you found your faith and lost your soul
If there's something you'd rather die than compromise
What is it?
Tell me how the universe was meant to be
Take another sip of your cola
You be the colonel of the cavalry
I'll be Francis Ford Coppola
We'll go together through the jungle night
As the moon and stars fade out of sight
Waiting for the dawn to come

is it my imagination or do some witnesses overthink things a bit too much?
although this is most likely meant as a joke, it well illustrates jw thinking on a lot of matters.

Yes, I read this a few months ago. Sheer genius. Imitated the WTS writers perfectly. And their convoluted logic.
my mother had ovarian cancer, her mother died of breast cancer, one of my father's sisters had colon cancer.
i had bleeding every two weeks for about a year myself, and now i have abdominal swelling and kidney pain, difficulty urinating(been blaming the lupus--but none of the tests are showing anything wrong!
) i look like i am pregnant the swelling is so bad.. i am having this test done next thursday.
Ravyn, My heart goes out to you. I will be hoping for the best. I went through something similar and it was nothing. Hopefully, that will be your case but if you need to talk, please pm me.

Winsted, Connecticut after the flood
In little over a week, two hurricanes passed by Southern New England in August 1955 producing major flooding over much of the region. Hurricane Connie produced generally 4-6 inches of rainfall over southern New England on August 11 and 12. The result of this was to saturate the ground and bring river and reservoir levels to above normal levels.
Hurricane Diane came a week later and dealt a massive punch to New England. Rainfall totals from Diane ranged up to nearly 20 inches over a two day period. The headwaters of the Farmington River in Connecticut recorded 18 inches in a 24-hour period. Both of these accumulations exceeded records for New England. The same is true of much of the flooding that resulted from these massive rainfall amounts
