Your final WTF? Moment!
by restrangled init was a long time coming for me.....when i read about the extened generations, after being raised on1914 being the be all end all, and millions would never die....that was the end.
i was part of the 1975 fiasco, the 6 month only truth book studies, suffered through a disifellowshipping and their version of a rewind.
i finally am free and hope others can eventually look in instead of inside looking out!

Years of sincere prayers didn't result in the promised strength.
One day I concluded: OMG, nobody is listening! -

need advice
by search4truth inmy spouse felt a need to tell to elders about me reading apostate websites and speaking against wt stuff , so they'll probably try to readjust my apostate thinking any time soon.
my spuse never see me reading anything but, during our arguments i did't keep my mouth shut and she knows that i had to read it somwhere and it wasn't jw.org.
could this get my in the trouble if my spose is the only witness and never spoke to another person about this stuff ?

If your teen kid allready has doubts, don't worry about him. Be a friend and when your in private with him, encourage him to follow his heart.
Wikipedia and newspapers are not apostate material.
For an easy fade: don't say anything that might sound apostate to your wife.

You're marriage is the most important thing (I think). So, for the sake of your marriage, you can admit partially (what EdenOne says). You came accross something in the internet MONTHS AGO.
Actually I worry more about the arguments you have with your wife. And that she's talking about you with the elders. That is uhm... not good, my friend. You're fading. Is she your only link with the borg?

I am Dutch, but living in Spain. Got a big Dutch flag hanging out of my window (couldn't do that in my JW-days). I blew my horn with every goal loader and loader. My poor neighbours... (not )

Newsletter or Updates
by lambsbottom inhey everyone,.
been trying to cut back on the amount i spend surfing.. .
is there a newsletter or site that gives the "most important" updates on jw land, instead of me having to browse this wonderful site often?.
-

a. Subscribe to the RSS-feed of this site to see just the headlines of the Active Topics in your favorite RSS-tool (or browser).
b. If you lack some discipline and want to cut back surfing in general, I recommend to install Cold Turkey (http://getcoldturkey.com/). It's an easy and free tool that can help you avoid distractions during to hours that you select (for the upcoming week). I use it to avoid my favorite sites during working hours.

What Do Mormons Really Believe? RE: The Nov. 8, 1995 Awake Magazine
by D_Rolling_Kearney ini am a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints, and i have written a heavily-documented response to the official magazine of the jehovah's witnesses, awake!, that claims to teach what we believe.
i saw an article from last year's watchtower about a guy who had barely been mormon for very long, and obviously did not know what we believe, who was given this magazine by jw's to show him "the truth.
" he claims to have proven to himself that it was true from information on the lds church's website.

D_Rolling_Kearney, you are (partly) so right.
I saw an example at your website about a reference regarding the Garden of Eden. You called it bewildering, because the reference has nothing to do with the subject in question. At this forum you can find many similar examples. The JW-leaders are misleading the public and manipulating their members.
But now I'll quote (totally out-of-context) from the same part of your website:
Basically, "Our guess is better than your guess"? That's not really a contrast, is it?
Don't you see that this statement applies on everything you believe? JW's believe this, mormons believe that. Both think that their believe is better than any other. But in reality there is no contrast: it is the same nonsense in another template.

Where the need is greater: TTATT in Spanish
by Londo111 init seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.
most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.
there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

Another volunteer: I am willing to help as well! As translator, but maybe also in the background as techie.
About URL's: my (professional) experience (as developer) is that it is better to use the same website as the original version in English (f.e. a http://jwfacts.com/es/). That way the Spanish parts can benefit from the existing pagerank and reputation of the current website(s).
