Who came up with the phrase TTATT? When?

I do not doubt in any way that Seraphim23 was the first using the phrase in the environment that he described.

I did find however the story of Sharon McDaniel Kennedy, apparently written in 1999 (and according to Google's cache indexed at Sep 15, 1999 to be exact), where she said:

I believe with all my heart that Jehovah is the Hearer of prayers, and that he answered mine with the truth about "the truth". It became very clear, as I would read scriptures, what the real and correct meaning was, rather than what the Society’s interpretation said was the meaning.

been doing some research on this.. back in ctr's day the feet of clay and iron symbolized (i think) the ten kingdoms: http://www.bible.ca/pre-miller-1843-ellen-white.gif.

by 1958 they believed what they do now, that it's the anglo american dual world power: http://www.a2z.org/wtarchive/docs/1958_your_will_be_done_on_earth.pdf (pdf page 126).. but does anyone know what year the wbts started believing that the feet of clay and iron symbolized the anglo american dual world power?.

Some quotes from The kingdom is at hand (1944, pages 179-88), which presented an alternative view:

Religious clergymen have attempted an interpretation of this dream, making it refer to the rise and fall of the four successive world powers, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and the Roman empire.

The image of the dream represents Satan's organization as a whole, invisible and visible, and including "the god of this world" himself... Satan the Devil is the golden head of the image... Brass (or copper), and silver, and gold, are superior metals, and hence are well used in symbolizing the unseen spiritual parts of Satan's totalitarian organization...

The feet and toes of the image of the king's dream were seen to be of iron mixed with clay, picturing divided power and organization... When the great crisis of Satan's world is reached in the near future, the political iron will sharply divide off from the religious clay. The ten toes of the image picture the complete number or all of the religious-political governments of men at the time of such climax.

w49 5/15 page 153 and Make sure of all things (1953, pages 101, 104, 235) also refer to the statue as Satan's organization.

But to start at the beginning... According to The Divine Plan of Ages (Studies in The Scriptures, part I (1886), pages 253-4):

[...] Rome, fourth, the strong kingdom, the iron legs and clay-mixed feet... The iron empire, Rome, was by far the strongest, and endured longer than its predecessors. In fact, the Roman Empire still continues, as represented in the nations of Europe. This division is represented in the ten toes of the image. The clay element blended with the iron in the feet represents the mixture of church and state. This mixture is in the Scriptures termed “Babylon”—confusion. As we shall presently see, stone is the symbol of the true Kingdom of God, and Babylon substituted an imitation of stone -clay— which it has united with the fragmentary remains of the [iron] Roman Empire.

Uhm, 'best advice in 42 years' is probably a bit exaggerated. But you're welcome.

I was thinking about a non-JW father of a young brother I helped (the one who plays soccer in a team, I talked about him another thread where nobody believes me). This father HATED JW. When I met him the first time, I wanted to make a joke: "Hi, I'm Michel. You might have heard about me: I am the guy who is brainwashing your son." Wrong! He appeared to be a pretty aggresive guy and almost threw me of the stairs. Ouch... But later on he appreciated my attitude, because he saw I allready was quite critical towards JW. And allthough he really hated JW, he liked talking with me.

Anyway, this father really loved his son. He came to some meetings when his son had talks. He came to the circuit meeting when his son was baptized. And so did his non-JW sister.

Talking about that: my DF-father came to my baptism, as well as my non-JW sister. My non-JW grandfather sometimes brought my grandmother to the meetings. Actually, I remember more and more non-JW's who accompanied their spouses from time to time.

Wow, non-JW's are not so bad after all!

Try to analyze why you feel guilty.

When you conclude (like you wrote) that you feel guilty because your children are sitting in the KH without you, consider this. Your children go to school without you and you probably will not feel guilty about that. Because you don't belong there at their school. The KH isn't your place neither. But you can support them, like you would do with school. You can think about bringing them, maybe regularly, maybe once in a while. You can even try to visit a meeting when they have parts. Not because you want to visit meetings, but because they are your fantastic family. You can prove them that their 'worldy' father still is a loving man, even if he has another opinion now.

There also is some nostalgia. Recognizable. How foolish we were back in those days, huh?
