Were you born into the jw faith?
by nakedmvistar inhow many of you on this forum were born into the jw faith?
do you think this put you at a disadvantage when leaving the org.
do you think that someone who becomes a witness later in life would have an easier time adjusting back to a "normal" life?

Wow, by my count on this thread, it's 13 born/raised in it to 2 that weren't. Make mine 14. I think (but can't relate to ones who joined) that it's harder if you're raised it in because you have no other point of reference. It took me awhile to leave, but once I made the decision I was outta there never to go back.
My kids are raised and I can't get interested in the Holidays. They just have no meaning to me so I move on to something that does. My heart goes out to the ones who needed therapy. Thank God you got help in time! God's organization my A**!!

Damn, that's one helluva an internet link! It must be 6 times longer than any link I've ever seen!
For what it's worth, my opinion is that BB suffers from dementia. Who in their right mind would continue sending these kinds of letters to the GB? The first letter to the GB was ok, but to continue writing to the GB isn't worth the electrons needed for it to show it up on the monitor let alone print it out at this point. It gets him attention is all I can figure. Continuing to drag Ray Franz into it is ridiculous and only further alienates many here who would support him. Is BB helping abuse victims by writing letters to the GB? Obviously not. Is continuing to drag Ray Franz into it helping abuse victims? Obviously not. So WHY IS HE DOING IT? Dementia is the only logical conclusion for me.
Time to go pop some corn.

To Have and Have Not: Bogart is going to see a woman about business
Bacall: Give her my love.
Bogart: I'd give her my own if she were wearing that.
Earlier in the movie:
Bacall: If ya need me, just whistle. You do know how to whistle, don't ya? You just pucker up your lips.........and blow. (The delivery was outstanding).

Witnesses Just Tried to Have Me Arrested!!!!
by Reborn2002 inwell, i just got home and im piping madd.. im laughing about it as well though because i outsmarted them at their own game and got a rant off my chest.. heres what happened.
an acquaintance i used to go to the hall with.. who is also 3 years younger than me asked me for money about 6 months ago.. at the time, i loaned him $50 to get the tires on his car fixed.
in that time period, not only did he move out of his parents house to an undisclosed location because he decided to stop going to the kh.. but i also da myself in that time frame.. due to the fact he moved out, i havent been able to reach him.. i tried calling his parents home to discover his current location or at least to tell them if he contacts them, to be sure to have him reach me because he owes me money.. no response.

I think reborn's whole point is the lack of reasonableness or love in dub mentallity. Everyone is trying to solve the $50 problem.

What Do You Expect From People?

I expect people to act 99% of the time in their own interests. I don't mean this is necessarily a bad thing, but people desire to be comfortable, happy, and unique. They will usually do things to enhance those desires. Even a lot of charitable work is done to make themselves feel better. When someone does something that bothers us, it is probably because we don't understand entirely why they did it or because we had the wrong impression of them.
I got this idea from a book entitled "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World" by Harry Browne, a fascinating read.

Lurkers
by Yizuman inseems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.
i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?
how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

I'm even willing to bet that you aren't a serious witness. Witnesses don't have access to older Watchtowers, for obvious reasons. Anyone that was associated like I was for 40 years can attest to this simple fact, yet you quote Russell twice from the 19th century. Has You Know made a comeback??
