  my highschool varsity boys kicked the crap out of a team that we can't stand tonight.

  it felt so darn good.

  in the past when our team was down they would run up the score and laugh it up.

  Nice work, LB. I love it when people can still win with dignity. Nice that everyone got a chance to play. I'm from the old school where winning and losing with dignity meant something. I think it builds better character. It's more fun to win with dignity than to lose, though.

  Officially Disassociated Tonight

  steve and i attended our very last meeting this evening.

  i wrote a thread a few weeks ago about our elder visit and their decision to announce that we were disassociated.

  they agreed to wait until we returned from our vacation so i could tell my grandma who still attends via phone link and so she wouldn't have to be alone in her devastation.

  did being a jw stifle your ambition?

  did not needing to plan for the future affect your career choices and your consequent wealth?.

  i'm not simply talking about following the advice to not take up an education which has been discused many times, but i'm going further to say that those brought up in "the truth" had their whole philosophy moulded and shaped in a way which never searched for more or wanted more; a non-materialistic outlook.. now some may still say materialism is evil, or that being brought up this way leads to a more content life.. the cynics, like myself, will say that keeping people 'happy but poor' is the genius of the rich.. i've had some success after leaving the org, after taking up education and so on, but it has taken time.

  An excellent thread. I think I was stifled beyond belief. School was easy for me and I could have gone so many paths. I would have liked to have tried professional baseball but will now never know. I have done the most menial of jobs, including driving a truck to pump portable toilets. I have an IQ of 137 and am driving a tow truck. I have tried different kinds of self-employment and have found out that I'm the world's worst business man. Something inside of me kills ambition. My 6th grade teacher told my mom that she was holding me back, that I was a leader around the other kids and could really go somewhere. She told him that I go door knocking. Wow, that really got me somewhere! I and the world both could have been better off.

  All I can do now is make the most of it. In spite of this message I have quit dwelling on the past and have tried to move on. But my ambition was definitely hampered by this evil cult.

  My Daughter's Letter to Elders!

  well, my daughter decided to write they letter.

  the foundation for this letter can be found in my previous thread a couple of days ago which can be found at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=44457&site=3.. she wrote her heart and gave them some good counsel.

  Thanks for all the support. Too funny, bikerchic. I'm really proud of her. Maybe I should write a letter to the elders and demand that all their children send me letters of their sexual conduct! Especially their daughters. I would get a kick out of it but I hate to lower myself to their debauched standards. It just pisses me off to no end.
