Is this a rhetorical question? Do you think you're in a toxic relationship? Discuss! ;) -

Hi Everyone. Answer to prayer countdown...
by Stumpy ini've been lurking for about 3 months now and thought i'd better finally sign up.
you have all been an immense help to me as i have come to realize that this isn't the truth so i want to say a great big thank you!
what a crazy, emotional ride it is to finally face the truth about the doubts that i have carried for many years.

A hearty welcome from me too, Stumpy! I'm also now an honorary Aussie. It turns out that moving to the opposite side of the planet works wonders for a successful fade ;)
My sister also beseeched Jehovah for many weeks, begging to be given any sign that it was the truth. Waddya know, all she heard was crickets.
Welcome to the board!

Female Perspective about WTS, marital relationship & control
by Muddy Waters indespite my user name, am female.
i was not born-in, began studying when i was around 20, am 50 damn years old now and have spent almost the last 30 years in that stupid religion.

I agree with Xanthippe. Interesting theory Bugbear, but I feel as one of four female siblings and now married with a daughter of my own, I can weigh in on this. I do look to my husband as my partner and emotional support when needed, never have I looked to 'sisters in a congregation'. Maybe this is all down to the choosing of said marriage mate (wtbts speak, sorry!).
Also, I come from a broken home and have every reason to think that as you say 'men can't be trusted', yet I was raised by a formidable woman to draw my own conclusions and treat everyone as an individual. She raised all four of us, without a 'man in the cave' and seemingly without a 'female cooperative'. It can be done!
Great thread, Muddy Waters.

Ahahahaha! @OUTLAW! It's the humour on here that gets us out of these years-long lurks. Welcome, cognitivedizzy! I think Losch's pained expression looks like he took ideas from Richard Gere and coaxed a hamster into a tight spot. Use a gerbil next time Losch. They're smaller. -

"The Second Last Marigold Hotel"
by zeb inwell its a warm feel good movie with some very salient lessons to us older people.
i warmly recommend it .. it made a reunion with the very fine caste and it was a wonderful (hey remember..wonderful?
) experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! @zeb are you talking about a 'choc top' ice cream? Those unbranded mini cones, that sit in the freezer looking innocent enough? I have a group of friends that used to work at the cinema as kids. The choc tops were the only snack they got to 'interfere' with, as they had to apply the chocolate topping and package them up for the customers. Let's just say I wouldn't touch one now with a ten foot barge pole! I hope your shots are up to date if that's what you had?! Haha! :) -

Off to see it in a few hours. Loved the first one - but then I adore any films that transport me to places I've yet to travel to. We're going to a cinema that serves a high tea whilst we watch it... including samosas, haha! -

One of the only times I recall crying as a child, was when Spock sacrificed himself in 'The Wrath of Khan'. The irony isn't lost on me as an adult, that as a child raised as a witness (with various other crap to contend with), the only time I cried was for a seemingly emotionless, fictional character, sacrificing himself for the greater good.
Live long and prosper.
