Your not the only one! same thing happened to me 3 weeks ago about 80% of my FB friends unfriended me without even contacting or asking me anything . Who know's what their saying about us, But look on the bright side you DONT need people like that in your life, your better off making REAL unconditional friends.

Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!
by sosoconfused inthe drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".
my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.
don't you just love this international brotherhood.

WELCOME ApostateChick!!! thank you so much for that video...you made me cry when you talked about not having your mom , im going through that at the moment .When I first heard that talk it made me sick to my stomach knowing my family will listen to that and find no problem accepting it and thinking of me. Hats off to you for having the courage to make that video hope to see more!!

My husband and i are pretty affectionate so if were sitting together then we automatically hold hands or something, so we were asked a few times NOT to share the bible or publications during the meeting and to not hold hands, that that wasn't the place or time to do it and the big thing was to not share the song book!! they also said it didn't look good that he puts his arm around me during prayer, that that was disrespecting jehovah...well sadly for them we never listed and we actually did it more lol
thats the reason i got married so i can show publicly our affection HELLO..know wonder most jw marriages are miserable

JW Middle Schoolers vs Non JW Middle Schoolers - what was your middle/high school experience?

i do a lot of playground duty and have the opportunity to observe the kids at play and in the classroom.
i've especially had the opportunity to observe middle school kids, that is, kids between 12 and 15 in my state.. my observations of these 'worldly' children are:.

Well I was the kid that grew up in a box sadly. my parents took me out of school at 12 years old against my teachers wishes of course and put me in homeschooling which was a joke because my mom had extreme depression and was in bed everyday . So i pretty much had to learn everything alone.I would beg my parents to let me go back to school but they where terrified of the world so they thought if they kept me home i would be protected from doing bad things. I graduated at 16 and was not allowed to go to college or work outside the family business all this due to there fear!!! I had a 4.0 grade average i was a bright smart girl and they threw it all away... i still feel very angry of how better my life could have been.. now at 30 I am still trying to get over the fear of being capable of working and having financial success .

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations
by flipper inhowever- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.
just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.

I have an audio clip from a talk Freddie gave in california in 1974 stating that Sep the 5th was the end of 7,000 year and beginning of great tribulation . this audio clip is what helped wake up my husband! we where born in the very early 80's so we grew up hearing that watchtower never gave a date but that it was all the brothers fault , that they had speculated and were spending all there money and living life before the big A ..so for us to actually hear the talk given was a big eye opener!!

Fathers Day, not sure what to do

Hi well i am in the same situation today, something so simple as telling your dad you love him on a special day becomes so complicated in the Jdubs world.
my dad changed his phone number so i cant contact him but, even though its a special day for me they don't care, if they were to find out im celebrating it they would probably have a heart attack lol . do what you feel is right but if you contact him maybe don't say "happy fathers day" just say how you are thinking of him and that you miss and love him....just my 2 cents

Just wanted to wish all you daddies a Happy Fathers day tomorrow !! Its the first year we celebrate and are very exited to show my hubby some love. But at the same time i'm a little nostalgic not being able to tell my own dad that i miss and love him, i hope one day he finds it in his heart to contact me....

Fading ... and Feeling Lost
by What Now? inprior to that we had been in a new congregation for about 9 months, and we were just irregular.
my husband rarely went, and i would go occasionally with our toddler son just enough to show our faces and keep the elders off our backs, and for the sake of some friendships in our old hall.
all of the reasons i had for going were just no longer important.

Hi What Now? your not alone in this situation my husband and myself are exactly in your position. its hard when your a stay at home mom, we faded almost a year ago and it has been very difficult for me to connect with other women and make friends .what has helped me is that my daughter is in school so their always having events that you can socialize some what , i also haven them in soccer and dance . something you could try to do is go to your local library they usually have story time for toddlers and its full of moms with kids!! another replace is meetup.com you can search for local mom groups that are looking for friends.
im still trying to find my place in this world but i know i have to give it time. i have my days some good & some depressed . but, i know that i never had true friends in the hall because its been almost a years since we last attended and i have not received one call or visit from anyone.
At least now your don't have to limit yourself to certain friendships, its nice to meet people from all walks of life. try to stay positive especially with a little baby growing inside you, they need positive vibes.
