  Ever been to a therapist?

  sorry if the title came across as a "minimus question," but after posting to one of joelbear's threads, i thought of my experience with therapists.

  all together, i've spent between 20 and 30 hours in counseling on two separate occassions and, i'm happy to say, both of the counselors and both of the experiences remain very good memories.

  i found out early on that for them to do their job, you had to be bluntly honest so that's what i did.

  Some of the hardest work that I have ever done has been in such an office.
  Came away from the experience with a better understanding of myself and learned a new set of survival skills to live in the real world.

  Hello to all - I am Kaz's hubby & new here

  i am kaz's hubby, but i am having to use her "name" as i don't seem able to sign on for a name of my own, is it because we are using the same computer and phone line?.

  i am now out of the jws after over twenty years of brainwashing .

  i hope to come back on here when i can sort out a name - perhaps some-one can help me please.. afton

  Kaytee & Twink's "Resignation" letter

  this was the second letter given to elders that turned out to be a "resignation" letter.

  this was, as you will see, because they chose not to answer any of our questions.

  the reason we are posting our letter, is because it is now obvious (by personal experiences) that ones who we thought were our friends are now choosing to shun us.

  is it just my computer or is the board jacked up.

  most of the night all i was getting was html jibberish.

  right now i'm batting about 500?

  On my platform I can access the board through Netscape 7.0 but when try to access it through IE 5.1 I get gibberish, lack of navigation links. This started last Sunday night.

  so, since i left the borg, i've been exploring all kinds a cool stuff that i wasn't allowed to do.

  rated r movies, blood sausages, rap music, wearing my hat backwards, patriotism, sex.. so, you know how the society and other fundies are always saying that heavy metal is the tool of the devil?

  i know there are bad feelings running here but it has to stop now.this forum and all on it are hurt in some way.i come here for information and a smile when things get bad.if it was not for this place i would not know all the lies of the wt or what they are pulling next.i finally feel i am not alone in dealing with a loved one in this cult and emotionly i am getting stronger thanks to you all.everyone here is needed, you all provide information ,either emotionily or about the org.

  that may help someone.we are not the org.we are of group of healing and we need each other to stick together .i can see the trolls just loving this and instead of helping them get out of the org.

  this will show them we are no better.please make this the loving place all want to join.we are all some of us have.today is a new day,let's start over.please!

  Did anyone else think that Sept 11 was Armageddon?

  i was in washington at the time (i work for the govt) when the attack occurred.

  i had a massive panic attack at first and then steeled myself and worked through the night as part of our emergency response team.. i was embarassed by my reaction.

  did anyone else have a similar experience?

  Was working in the Boston area at the time and had put my significant other on a plane that morning to fly back to Oregon. Had to sit down and do the mental math to figure out that her plane would have to have circled for almost 2 hours to be one of the ones that involved. Long wait for several hours to get a call from here when they grounded all flights. Not an experience I would care to repeat.

  i left the borg after a 5 year struggle at home.

  the best way for me to leave was to move across the country from east to west, (still wasn't far enough), i was unemployed at the time and had no real opportunities, so my girlfriend at the time (not a jo-ho)(who my family never met) and i headed out west.

  now, i returned home about 3 years later when my dad past away, and at the funeral, people were coming up to me asking me how the west was and how was my new congregation, can you believe this.

  The worst thing you can do to them is to let them continue doing what they are doing to themselves. By their omissions, deceptions of others they have sewn the seeds of their own crisis. If they have a conscience then it will eat at them the longer they keep doing this. If they don't have a conscience then they aren't worth the time or thought.
  
  The best revenge is living well, in mental, physical and spriitual (as you define it for yourself) context.

  Very nice letter. I have two requests if you would consider them.
  
  Since IM is not working on my platform of choice yet and since IE appears to be acting up on this site as well I would like to have you email me so that I can ask several questions.
  
  The reason for this being I am gathering info on the UN association (your year of effort would allow me to jumpstart my documentation). As my family that is still in has started increasing the pressure to return.
