  Confessed my Doubts to my Wife

  well - i today i had the opportunity to tell my wife i no longer believe in the things that i have spent my life immersed in and that i didn't want my life run by 9 geriatrics in brooklyn.. her reaction was understandable her first questions was "what have you been reading"?.

  i didn't mention this site but told her i was shocked by something i heard regarding the wts's ngo status with the un, dissapointed by the new light on the generation and disturbed by the flip flopping on blood fractions.

  i explained how these things were at best hypocritical and at worst have meant some people have lost their lives unnecessarily because of the societies previous position.

  CL I personally hope that it works out for you and your mate in the best possible out-come.

  Having said that, there are a few red flags that went up when I read your post.

  The foremost is the reflex reaction, as it were, and the trained conclusion that you were under the influence of outside forces.

  Be very careful about how hard you push the situation as the conditioned response is to retreat deeper into the organization.

  She is obvously intellegent and can pocess the information honestly, but under stress may still act in reflex per the indoctrination.

  Simply slowly and carefully should be the path forward.

  What is the JW theology?

  by "theology" i mean "the study of god (gk.

  : theos).. jws keep rabbiting on ad nauseum about the trinity teaching being "irrational", "impossible to understand", etc.. i do not want this thread to be about the trinitarian doctrine.. i want to be given an explanation of what a jw believes.

  i have seen so many arrows and spears thrown by jws, i want to know exactly what they are defending.. i want to see an explanation of "god" that is rational and can be understood.. doug.

  JW Theology (as it were) can be summed up very simply.

  1. The governing body (FDS) is always right.

  2. The need to place magazines and books in the fieldwork is greater that ever before.

  3. If the GB says something that turns out to be inaccurate or does not come to pass; SEE RULE #1

  Any deviation from the above rules will be grounds for expulsion, aka disfellowshipped (formerly disfellowshiped in older literature)

  just saw the thread from otwo talking about the call he got from an elder who wanted to meet up.

  it go me thinking about my own situation.

  me and my wife have been gone for a while.

  DF'ed in early 90's

  Lived 4 years in the same address. Not 1 visit.

  Moved to this place over 10 years ago and no visits, not even a single Memorial invitation taped to the door.

  Conclusion:

  Ask too many questions, recall what was said before and after 1975, buck the system to get a college education.

  I am not worth the time as I will be bird food anyway.

  Going back to Kingdom Hall Saturday

  i last set foot in a kingdom hall in december of 1997. i was a servant who was very active, very faithful and had a wife who was the same way.

  we walked away without any warning and did not explain to the elders, or warn anyone we would not return.

  i remember the night we decided it was all wrong and we lived in an apartment at the time.
