But do the Jehovah Witnesses teach this as one of their doctrines, or is it just an unwritten belief they have. I mean, has it ever been on one of the Watchtower magazines? Not that I am interested in reading one, but just wanted to know if it is something actually taught to that degree.

Alright, I need a question answered, if possible with bible versicles. Do demons flee when someone pronounces God's name, Jehovah? I know this is a belief from the JWs, but I don't know on what it is founded, or if it is. I think that demons flee from the presence of God, but not when someone pronounces it. Can anyone answer with bible versicles please? Thank you.

WTS says faith is not enough! (Worship Bk chap 8)
by ozziepost inmost people would think that having faith is what is required for a christian.
but it seems the borg is saying that something more than faith is required.
that seems to be the thinking in chapter 8 of the recently released book worship the only true god.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16. In my opinion, it's that simple. You believe in him, you have eternal life. In my opinion, if you really believe in him, then you'll do good works automatically, it just comes to you. By good works I do not mean preaching the Word of God from one corner of the earth to the other, but just doing what is right when you know you should. What do Jehovah Witnesses teach about John 3:16, that only they really believe in him?

by MacHislopp into begin let's start with some ... reminders: .
the truth will not allow for all the different kinds of religious doctrine in the worldthere can not be two sets of truth when one does not agree with the other.

Are most witnesses aware of this stuff, or are these things that are just in the shadows, never spoken about?

Is this the true meaning of worship?
by lisavegas420 inthe expression "to worship" is defined in a dictionary this way: "to regard with great, even extravagant respect, honor, or devotion.
" *who should be given such worship?
jesus christ said: "you must love jehovah your god with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.

It's fun to talk with those JWs, mess with their mind a little. It's funny because they think they know everything of your religion, but they dont know how much I know about theirs, so I make this indirect comments. Lol. Yeah, one of my JW friends asked if I would accept a study. Blah blah blah. I said yes, I would listen, I just wouldn't accept the doctrines taught to me. He got all over me for saying that.

Yeah, those Unitarians get all on you when you challenge them with the Trinitarian doctrine. I have a question, do JW's get in trouble for having "wordly" friends or acquantainces. I am asking because this Sunday some JWs came to my door and they were preaching saying people needed to read their bible more often. They asked me if I did, and I said "yes". They then changed conversation and started saying "We are giving these magazines this morning -- " and I asked "The Watch Tower?" and she looks at me surprised with a happy look on her face, she probably thought she had found a JW. I told her that I had some friends who were Witnesses and they seemed pretty interested in knowing their names. I told them that they probably didnt know them because they lived on the other side of town so they most likely assisted to another Kingdom Hall. They looked at me weird, and asked me for their names again. I just said their last names, then they said bye. I wonder if i got them in trouble...

DJ,
Yeah, they teach that everyone but dubs will die in Armaggedon. I have some JW friends, and they told me that. I argued with them saying that their religion has only been around for what, 120 years? They told me that back then only some people followed a code of conduct such as the one they have now in the Jehovah Witnesses. This is because I think they believe that they need to work for their salvation. Once, a teacher who studied Christian theology got in a discussion with one of my JW friends over this matter. The teacher ended up making him look bad, my JW friend couldn't keep up with the questions or answers. Anyways, I ignore their endless arguments. Oh yeah, I just remembered something. Can you believe that one of my JW friends takes his bible to field trips on school because he says its good luck with girls? That guy is a major flirt, and so does my other JW friend. In my opinion it's because they know that they can't really go out with anyone they please, it needs to be a JW. That way, it won't make them look bad and they'll have something to say if people start telling them that they are hitting on someone. They'll argue that we misunderstood. Lol, anyways, sorry for getting off topic here.

The Name of God
by ClassAvenger ini have a friend who is a jehovah witness.
once we started talking about prayer, and i told him that we referred to god as 'lord', or 'god', or 'father', for reverence or respect, although we did not have prohibited to say jehovah.
he said that i was wrong, that it was necessary to state that the prayer was for jehovah and not any other god.

Another question, is there any part of the bible in which it says that God's name should be said with respect and reverence, to not be taken lightly? Thanks.
