Even demons and Satan believe that Jesus is the Messiah, but do they have faith in him? If you have faith, your works will be the fruit testifying your salvation.

Excellent information Undisfellowshipped,
I have a JW friend who insists that faith is gained through good works. I'll show him this information soon. - CA

Sad again at the Service Meeting
by Euphemism inthe service meeting on thursday was really saddening, particularly the last part, about preaching with boldness.
it was about overcoming nervousness, shyness, etc in the ministry.. all these people gave their experiences about difficulties they had in the ministry.
a regular pioneer (and elder's wife) admitted that she used to just pretend to ring the door bells; service is still really difficult for her, but she does it just because she feels obligated to.

I believe that their love for God drives them to do this door-to-door preaching even though it emotionally hurts them. Although they have many false doctrines and are controlled by the Org, I believe that their love for God is sincere. I know that there are those that are trying to gain their salvation through this, but others do it just to preach what they believe to be God's Word. I am not defending JWs, but I think they are pretty brave to have the courage to go to someone's door and preach. - CA

"Jehovah" in the New Testament
by robhic ini just got a return visit from a couple of jw that visited me last month.
all was very nice and friendly.
i have inadvertantly agreed to a study of sorts and figure it might be an interesting challenge for me to try out my newfound knowledge/information with them.

Troublesome Trinity Verses Part 2
by hooberus inon a previous thread many other "troublesome" verses have been brought up.
i will take some of these and start theads for them.
due to the complexity of the subject, several threads each covering one or two verses will be started, lord willing.

Still,
Try researching on the Trinity and try researching on the lies the Watchtower taught you to support their unitarian point of view. If the Trinity was a false doctrine, why would the Watchtower need to lie so much to prove that the Trinity is wrong. If they were correct, they wouldn't have needed to make any of the misquoting and changing bible verses and all that stuff you find in their Bible and books. - CA

Troublesome Trinity Verses Part 1
by hooberus inin this series i hope to discuss some common verses used by the watchtower to "disprove" the trinity and deity of the lord jesus christ.
the first one is 1 corinthians 8:6: .
"but to us there is but one god, the father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one lord jesus christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Dean Porter, Paul was not trying to give a lesson on the Trinity, he was just stating what he knew and believed (that both the Father and Jesus are God). Therefore, there was no reason to talk about the Holy Spirit.
Hooberus, Amen brother.

Is the JW religion that unique ??? do others have the same problems ???
by run dont walk inis the jw religion that different from other religions, i am not talking about beliefs, but the set up and blueprint that they work from.. i had a great discussion the other day with 2 hetterites (not sure how to spell it) both in their mid-twenties, they talked about how they had just left about one month ago and were going up to fort mcmurray to work, as they talked about their childhood, their beliefs, their upbringing, their rules, do's and don'ts, i swear they could of been jw's, i mean they went throught the exact things that alot of us on this board went through, it was amazing and frightening.. not knowing alot about other religions, are the problems we went through with the jw religion any different from someone who is mormon, muslim etc.
etc., do all religions although different beliefs by far, basically have the same blueprint in runnning their organization ???
and controlling people ??

Odrade, are you sure she was from an Assembly of God? I've got some friends there and they are not really indoctrinated, they are pretty open-minded and show no signs of indoctriniation... whatever those signs might be.

if you still believe in the bible ... please tell me why
by frenchbabyface inwhy i can't anymore : sorry for my poor english, but i've tried hard !!
since the beginning of the time, till the 19th century and more, most of stories and songs for kids, was made to scary them with a moral at the end.
to me, the bible is one of kind of that type of book (for children we are inside).
