50% of them are like this
45% are very old people
5% are still-in-apostates
that's why the JW still exists.
following a comment by sapphy on another thread on cultural jws, it got me thinking about my circle of 30 something jw friends.. they fall into roughly two groups.
couples without kids, couples with kids.. the couples without kids are the most interesting.
they're mainly career types, but with one foot firmly in jw land.

the following story is heart-breaking to me, i was in los angeles in a cancer hospital to see a friend who was partially in the organization i would say.
he had found jesus christ and his thoughts had changed where he really thought he was going to heaven.
i hope he is right, i am not a god or judge and i hope he is looking down on me from above laughing after the graceful way he endured his agonizing death.. .
They teach almost the same, in this case.
"you will wake up in paradise... it's just close and open your eyes, just like falling asleep"
I fell a little bit afraid of death. I don't have that desire to "live forever", but also I believe that an earlier death is unfear. I want to see my kids as adults. I want to have grandchildren.
What if I die tomorrow?
What if I die before waking up my family to TTATT?
I'm some sort of agnostic, so I don't think that I'm going anywere. And that is a little more scary. In the end it will be "game over, man... game over!", no hopes, nothing. Just the blue screen of death.
Going back to the issue: No, I believe that WT gives their followers an empty hope as empty as the other faiths. Is not better, is not worst.
Nobody from Woking... or near?
so ever since they discontinues the food service at the assemblies and dcs, jws have been "lovingly encouraged" to pack a light lunch to eat.
the secretary at the hall that i am held hostage in said during the service meeting that even a sub would be too heavy to eat, and that a light salad was the best option.
what do you fine people think is the real reason why, in the absence of food service, jws are told to not leave the building at lunch?
My kids know that convention = happy meals for 3 days...
Such a happy time!
Yes, as everybody elses says: it's about the money. Is you eat outside is far costly that eat a light nothing there. And the money has to go to boxes, not to McD.
there are two parallel verses, of which we are very familiar with one in particular:.
(mt 24:45) who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?.
(lu 12:42) and the lord said: "who really is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time?".
" So as a slave/overseer, how should they refer to themselves, as the slave or as the overseer?"
They are humble. The name is not important. Only worship them and that's all.
after lurking for 7 and half years (is that a record?!
) its time for me to say hello.. so who am i, and whats my story?.
im a born in jw, with all my siblings, mother, wife and children in.
Hey!
more or less the same that me. More or less the same area.
Someday, if you want to share histories and coffee, just send a PM.
Remember: you can't wake up someone. You have to be patiente to wait until they awake. But if they want to sleep, arrange another pillow take care of their sleep.
Also remember: as in the matrix, everyone can be an agent... if you suspect one: Run!
Regards!
congratulations to justitia themis on all her hard work at putting herself through law school.
after being raised in the watchtower organization and having survived all of what that entails she has picked up the pieces, analyzed her strengths and has made choices to better herself and the community.. .
i am so proud of her.
i thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.
and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.
i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.
South America, in every cong there is a different weird history!
Yes Hoser, I wouldn't believe it too. But it happens a few years ago. Big cong, but there were only a couple of elders, Now I think that they need the guy's help.
Later, he left. Now he's gay. Free. Happy... and don't need to report.
But, I used that argument in my cong and it worked! Still I DO report my coffee time.

I always try to put something different in each slip.
In fact, Im not always take the same coffees!
There was a MS in a old cong that never goes to preach. And was MS for years! he always reported ¨ 0 ¨ . The elders can do nothing: he ask them how much time the bible says that a MS has to do to qualify... they never answered.
... don't worry, i dont need money or house or food or anything (ok, maybe a coffee).
don't need hospitality... i need information.. .
heeeeeeellllppp!.
Thank you Scot, Krejames...
Close to south london? anyone knows?
