From the other memorial thread.
I thought I'd place it here.
and i think that the wts's "waters are drying up".
we had two congregations meet and the hall still wasn't full!
i noticed a change in the talk from last year.
We would have been glad to have you.
Of course, we had to do all this right under their noses.
Can you imagine participating?

There were "apostates" at the Memorial here.
In fact, they not only attended the rather large Memorial here, but one even got a hold of the 'emblems' (idols) and was passing them around to other "apostates". And these "apostates" are the biggest "apostates" in the city!!!
I know this because I was there to see it.
The "apostate" was me.
How did I get the emblems? Simple. I was a server.
It was all I could do to keep from busting a gut, laughing as I passed the emblems to the other "apostates" that attended. As we made eye contact I had to look away or else I would have burst out like a hyaena and fallen to the floor rolling in tears of laughter.
Did we gulp the wine? No. Poor home made swill. Rather, after the 'celebration', we went back to my place and cracked open a few bottles of good stuff and made a late night. Took pics & all.
Getting up today AM was tough. I needed a nap mid-afternoon.
Overall, it was a good Memorial season. I guess you could say it was Memorable..!!!
Looking forward to next season with eager anticipation.
Note: I just got a phone call during this post from one of the the other "apostates" to say thanks for the evening and to tell me about the fallout. What a cult. And as far as us being the biggest "Apostates" in town, I know we take that prize without doubt.
Disclaimer: All quotes in italic refer not to the actual meaning of the word but rather to the twisted and bastardized version found within Watchtowerism's obtuseness.

in five words or less, please give examples of statements no jehovah's witness in good standing could ever say.
here are two examples:.
"The blood policy contradicts itself"
.
i have been visited by a local jw woman weekly for almost 4 years and started weekly study about 1 year ago.
friday things took a more serious turn and i am very uncomfortable.. i need advise on how to stop the meetings (without being offensive) and still get away from this madness before it gets out of control.
Before you make a decision on just how to go about it, please ask yourself this question. If you were driving home from work and saw a terrible accident and heard a child screaming for help, would you worry most about which exit to take on the highway to get home quicker?
Do this what I tell you please and let nature take its course.
Next study, tell her that you have a seroius question about blood. Say that you need help understanding where these "allowable fractions" come from since blood is to be poured out. (Leviticus)
Show your research.
Talk about the blood drive at work and how you appreciate all your co-workers donating blood so that your new JW friends can get their life saving therapies.
You will see a pair of eyes open wide. Perhaps her mind may open also.
And maybe you will have helped that screaming child in that wreck.
i posted this on another thread but it suddenly seemed more important and i wanted to get some opinions!
i was still a dub when sterilization changed from a consciences matter to a no-no.
i remarked to my wife at the time that i thought the reason for this was a declining membership!
I just returned from the 2 day assembly. 14 got baptised in the waters of hell.
Of the 14, nine (under 15yrs) were children of dubs. Two are sons of dubs (34&42yrs) and have their own family now. The rest I am not sure of.
Basically, almost 100% of "growth" is just dub kids.
I wonder why they don't want dubs getting clipped.
with the jw congregations about to be informed that the ubiquitous awake!
magazine is to be issued just once a month from january 2006, now is an apt time for interested parties to share brief memories and/or impressions about the bi-monthly awake!
magazines, whether poignant, hard-hitting or humorous.
And the reason why this is happening? Drum roll please.....
The days of cheap paper have come to an end.

Look carefully at the rising costs and deminished returns for paper mills and the resulting need to jack prices into the sky.

w98 7/1 p. 31 A Samaritan Proves to Be a Good Neighbor ***Jesus? parable shows that a truly upright person is one who not only obeys God?s laws but also imitates his qualities. (Ephesians 5:1) For example, the Bible tells us that "God is not partial." (Acts 10:34) Do we imitate God in this regard? Jesus? stirring parable shows that our neighborliness should transcend national, cultural, and religious barriers.
Jehovah?s Witnesses strive to follow this Scriptural admonition. For example, when natural disasters strike, they extend humanitarian aid to fellow believers as well as to non-Witnesses.

blood substitute vexes jehovah's witnesses.
polyheme will be tested on injured patients, many without consent.. by doug guthrie.
Some persons may reason that getting a blood transfusion is not actually eating. But is it not true that when a patient is unable to eat through his mouth, doctors often feed him by the same method in which a blood transfusion is administered? Examine the scriptures carefully and notice that they tell us to keep free from blood and to abstain from blood. (Acts 15:20, 29) What does this mean? If a doctor were to tell you to abstain from alcohol, would that mean simply that you should not take it through your mouth but that you could transfuse it directly into your veins? Of course not! So, too, abstaining from blood means not taking it into our bodies at all. (The Watchtower, June 1, 1969, p. 326-7) OK. I'll buy it! With the same reasoning then.... A delicatessen just opened a new selection of OK-by-the-Bible sausages. Blood fraction sausage! Yum yum... and then there's 'blood fraction pudding'.... mmmMMMmmmMMMmm good! It's all kosher for JW's... sure. The deli just slothers all the blood into a centrifuge, it spits out the separated goodies, and makes special foods with only the fractions allowed by God.
that's right folks.
the awake september 8,2004 on page 21 has a box.

"The only place many JWs are finding spiritual paradise is underneath a child-proof cap."
Now THAT is funny!
