How can I successfully Deprogram?

for months i have been questioning in my mind whether i still believe what i was taught in this organization.

my belief system is very much intact.

i stopped using illegal drugs(this got me on the disfellow ship in the first place) i don't lie or steal, but still curse like crazy.

I agree with the others here that mentioned the freeminds website. . . Freeminds.org Good starting point.
In addition, I think that Crisis of Conscience is a wonderful book that opened my eyes to the truth about the "TruthTM". You are doing that. . . excellent.
I am also taking courses available locally. There are probably places you could check out locally that will help with the deprogramming. Ask around. Check at health food stores. Mine "place" is called "Centre for Positive Living". They might have something similar in your area. . .depending how big a centre you live in. Saskatoon has 175,000 people.

You are well on your way, I'm guessing! Keep up the great progress!!!

when you sit and ponder, it is plain that life is lived in the moment.

often times, if not always, the most joyous moments are those when we are so present that all thoughts of "me" are gone and there is just this vibrant aliveness, beauty and warmth.

it's as if we have dissolved into life.

JamesThomas: I look back on the teachings and shake my head in amazement and disbelief that I used to think like that. I too was taught to fear, after all isn't the JW a religion of fear? I have done a lot of deprogramming of the jw philosophy. I take courses through the "Centre for Positive Living" here in Saskatoon, that are helping me heal from the dub mentality. The more adjustments I make, the more I think, "I believed . . . WHAT?" It is inconceivable and incomprehensible to think that people live with such a futuristic view of life. All the joy of the moments are gone . . . wasted . . . invalididated. I choose to embrace life NOW!!! I really appreciate your post, JT . . . good thread! ESTEE

My Daughter's Birthday

ok, there's this (supposedly married but sometimes that doesn't mean much)guy at work that the girls are sooo into, they just fall at his feet.

and yes, he is very good looking, one in a thousand maybe.

you should have seen the way they did up his work area for his birthday today.

I liked Seinfeld's theory. He was looking around at all the strange looking couples paired up. Now he is a perfectly nice ordinary looking guy ... maybe a little too particular about some things ... sooo he says,

"Now how come these fat people have dates and I don't!"

Then he hesitates, then the light bulb comes on. . .

"I know!". . . Alcohol . . ."

Ahhhhhh . . . life doesn't have to be complicated . . .
