Happy Family Day to Canadians!

this is a new holiday in canada, and i wonder what "pagan origin" the watchtower society will attach to it in order to get jws to avoid it and to instead spend the day selling books and magazines.

if jws do spend the day in so-called "field service," it will surely draw criticism from their canadian neighbours who appreciate the anti-workaholic purpose and spirit of the day.. .

Hi Grace,

Call it a church, call it a network, call it nursing home chums, call it workmates, call it a household, call it birds of a feather, call it JWD, call it a family. Whatever we call it, whoever they are, we all need one.

I'm still on the mend. The doctor says my pains and discomfort should all be gone early in March. The medicine I'm taking is the worst part of it right now, giving me fatigue, nausea, dizziness and headaches on and off. But better days are just ahead.

I hope you're doing well, Grace. Lots of (((((hugs))))) to you too.

I agree about the picture. I tried to change it a few times, but it wouldn't work. I'll try again in a day or two.

I doubt they have expressed themselves as opposed. But they obviously prefer the cards due to the signature and clarifying explanation that would be too lengthy for a necklace or bracelet. I suppose, too, JWs don't want to wear something conspicuous that would call attention to a teaching that already has resulted in a lot of bad publicity for them. Frank

Nurses are calling for Jehovah's Witnesses to wear special bracelets and necklaces so they won't be given "sinful" blood transfusions by mistake.

Most of Britain's 125,000 Witnesses carry pocketsized cards declaring their religious beliefs. But nurses say that in an emergency there may be no time to check a patient's pockets.

The Royal College of Nursing have urged the Watchtower Society, which represents the Witnesses, to ask members to wear the bracelets or necklaces.

The March 1991 Kingdom Ministry contained an insert entitled "Are You Ready to Face a Faith Challenging Medical Situation?" Paragraphs 9 and 10 state the following concerning a "no blood transfusion" card:

"Think what could happen to you if you should arrive in a serious condition at the emergency room of a hospital, unconscious and/or unable to speak for yourself. If you do not have the document with you, and there is no relative or elder yet at the hospital to speak for you, and it is concluded that you 'need blood,' you will likely receive a blood transfusion. Unfortunately, this has happened to some. But when we have the document, it speaks for us, expressing our will.

"That is why a medical document is better than a medical bracelet or necklace. The latter do not explain our Bible-based reasons for our position and do not have signatures verifying what is stated."

Important Message

the authorized shepherd of the jehovahs witnesses was chosen to help get truth out to mankind at one time; but christ warned that the shepherd had better be doing what was supposed to be done when he arrived for the inspection in these last days.

because they have misinterpreted much of the words true meaning, they have been in the dark on much of what yahweh meant.

the shepherd over the jehovahs witnesses became corrupt, but the jehovahs witnesses did not become corrupt intentionally.

This message is delivered out of love and compassion and it is our heartfelt prayer for all who read it, Jehovah’s Witness or not, that their eyes and hearts and minds are open to receiving the valuable counsel which is being imparted here today.

The writer probably doesn't realize it, but he "delivered" his "message" in the same presumptuous and arrogant spirit that turned many of us away from the Watchtower Society!

"Valuable counsel"? Who is the god or scholarly expert who authorized him to define his own personal opinion as "valuable" or as "counsel"?
