I neglected to state where I found the above-quoted info in Wikipedia. It's at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah's_Witnesses_splinter_groups.

Wikipedia states:
In 1948, Jehovah's Witnesses in Romania came under ban from the Romanian government which lasted until 1989. They had limited access to changing Watchtower doctrines and studied largely from the books of Rutherford and older magazines. A prominent teaching was that the Superior Authorities did not refer to governments but to Jehovah. (Superior Authorities) After the ban was lifted they were in disagreement with the changes in teachings that had happened over the years and formed The True Faith Jehovah's Witnesses Association in 1992. [4]
In 1962 some of Jehovah's Witnesses in the USSR could hardly believe that the new understanding of who the "Superior Authorities" were was really given by the Watchtower Society, not by the KGB. That is why they stopped using the publications of the Watchtower Society published after 1962. Some of these splinter groups in Russia, Ukraine and Moldova still exist. They call themselves the Theokratic Organisation of Jehovah's Witnesses and claim to seek contacts with Witnesses in other countries.[5]It is to be noted, however, that the membership of these splinter groups is still significantly smaller than the membership of Jehovah's Witnesses in those areas.

This is a breakaway group who call themselves "the True Faith Jehovah's Witnesses" and "the faithful and uncompromised Jehovah’s Witnesses." They are found mainly in what were once Soviety Bloc countries, especially Romania. They're loyal to Russell and Rutherford, but they feel the WT Society in Brooklyn compromised the truth by changing the identification of "the superior authorities."

I think it isn't fair to judge people on the basis of one expression or even a brief fit of anger. We all mispeak, and sometimes we're more edgy than usual. Raising boys these days is no picnic. They see what other boys do at school, and they copy their bad conduct. The job of control sometimes requires the presence of two parents. Additionally, I've seen parents lose their temper with their boys and then apologize later. That can happen to any of us, whether dealing with unruly kids or unreasonable grownups.

How can I know for sure that the WTS isn't God's organization?
by nbernat ini go back and forth everyday.
one day i'm like, "suppress your gay feelings and what you think is wrong about this organization and keep going forward because you want eternal life and all of your friends are here and it's as close to the truth as it can possibly get so just deal with it.
" others i'm like, "live your life.

Here are some additional ways a person can know absolutely that the WT Society is not God's organization:
- Did Jesus ever teach that we must belong to an organization or did he say we must walk according to his commandments?
- Did Jesus say the WT Society is the way, the truth and the life, or did he point to himself instead?
- Does the Bible ever say a governing body is the head of Christ's church, or does it identify Christ himself as the Head of the church and of each Christian?
- Where is the hint in the Bible that the "faithful and discreet slave" is a class of Christians instead of each and every Christian who has the responsibility to remain obedient and alert as Christ's follower?
- How could Christ have appointed JWs in 1919 as his slave class when the organization was teaching so many things then that have since been repudiated and abandoned by the Society? Russell and Rutherford would be disfellowshiped today if they were still alive and believed many of the things they taught as leaders of the Society.
- If JWs are teaching the truth about Christ's return, why do they say he returned invisibly whereas the Bible says every eye will see him?
- Why does the Society teach that "food in due season" is provided by "the anointed remnant" when most of the Society's writers are of "the other sheep class"? Instead of consulting "anointed ones" around the earth, the Society leans heavily upon the views of those men at headquarters in the Writing and Service Departments, both of which are manned mainly by "non-anointed" JWs.
- Why does the Society teach that only certain Christians must be "born again" whereas the Bible says no one can see the Kingdom unless he is born again?
- How can the Society teach that Jesus is the Mediator only for the 144,000 "anointed ones" when the Bible says he is "the" Mediator between God and all men?
- Why does the Society tell the "other sheep" not to partake of the Memorial emblems when Jesus made no such distinction? Very different from the Society, Jesus said, "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him." (John 6:53-56)

Isn't this proof the GB doesn't believe what it preaches?
by nbernat inif the gb really thought they had the exact truth perfect from flaws, shouldn't they be telling their members, "go look at the apostate stuff-- you'll see it's all lies!
compare it to the bible and you'll see it's all lies!
" that would completely eliminate apostasy if it were all true, no?.

Nbernat,
You make some very good points, but they would bounce off a JW like water off a ducks back. They've already been told that some will use your type of argumentation, but that it's a trick of the devil to draw them away.
This is the reasoning they use:
Jesus preached the truth, but still some doubted, even the apostles at times. (Matthew 28:17) Jesus was the greatest teacher who ever lived. If those taught by him could be persuaded to doubt, so can those who know "the truth" today be persuaded by "apostates."What they fail to consider is that there is a monumental difference between what Jesus taught and what the WT teaches.

Grace,
If Christians can't trust one another, how is the world going to know we're different?
Micah 7:5 applied to special circumstances when, according to the prophet, "every" person was a thief and murderer. It doesn't apply to life in every age and in every circumstance.
Jesus said something similar: "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves."
On the other hand, if Christians can't trust one another, Philippians 2:3 becomes meaningless: "with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves." So do all the commands that Christians love one another from the heart. I sure hope you didn't pick up your interpretation from some preacher's sermon. If so, the guy gave real bad advice.

HAPPY CANADA DAY CANADIANS
by Hope4Others inhave a great and safe holiday!!!!!.
july 1, 2008. .
cheers!.
-

So why do you have that day as special……???
Most all these national holidays would rather mark "unhappy England day ".... because these celebrations mark independence from "Mother England "
Canada Day doesn't celebrate "independence." It marks the time in 1867 when Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada were joined together into a federation. The Province of Canada became the two provinces of Quebec and Ontario. Canada didn't become a fully independent nation until 1982.

Grace,
I accept your apology. But I think you need to work on your admitted attitude if you want to stop causing tension in your relationships with some people. It's sexist to have one attitude toward women and another toward men. There are good and bad women as well as good and bad men. Joy comes from seeing people for what they are as persons, not for the gender they were born with.
I wouldn't have come on so strong if I wasn't getting tired of uncalled-for little swipes I get after all these years from someone I thought I could trust as a friend.
