heres a story of what happened to me at a district convention this year.. an unbaptised publisher and i travelled to wolverhampton district convention in england.

this wasnt our district but id been on holiday and had missed my own district convention (how unspiritual of me).

so me and this friend decided to go to this convention and was also hoping to meet a friend there.. on the saturday morning we were delayed in traffic and we eventually arrived at 11.30am, paid our 3 for parking (i wonder if they had the use of car parks for free?

my mom says that she wasnt treated very well at all after moving congs in 1980. the new cong were very cliquey and looked down on people in a divided household.

back in 1990 we found out with some friends(most of us left the borg) that the wt uses demonic pictures in their publicactions, specially the live for ever book... .

when the elders found out that we had this discussion they called us and asked questions why did we had this kind of discussion... .

i remember one of them was shouting (i thing he was possesed) and saying to us that this are what apostates are saying in order to harm the organization... .

i'd say that the sublim's are for those who know what they mean, rather than for everyone. the symbol of the watchtower means nothing to the normal JW. whereas those who do know what it means, it is a 'reminder', and that is for the real agenda, if there is one.

looking back on it all it brings home to me just what a farce the conventions are. just a place of physical control and mind control.

i was glad of the experience to be honest. a great eye opener to the control that the WTS like to exert. from then on i was on a different path, knowing i'd be outa this whole damn mess sooner rather than later.
