i find it quite refreshing now that i dont use it as a quote book.

another powerful observation about witness kids: it's amazing how quickly the "truth" can evaporate amidst them.. while you and i talk about healing and moving on and agonize about changing our whole lives, many of these kids.
react as if the organization never meant anything to them.. i knew a young sister who left ( an honor roll student with long term witness parents, elder dad and aux pio mother).
who acted astonished that the congregation would df people for "living together".
i remember talking to one 20 year old lad. he came back to meetings after a brief spell 'in the world'. i said to him that you ought to try and read the bible as often as you can, and it'll make loads of difference. he said that he couldnt read it, 'cos to him it just didnt make any sense. well, i just didnt know what to say to that.
i always found it funny that jws hated pop groups with a passion.
here's some groups, that i was always being had a go at for listening to, or told that they shouldnt be listened to...

there was a 'demon' story doing the rounds not so long ago about Metalica. apparently a brother had a Metalica music book, and it lifeted into the air and flew across the room. just another scare story hey?

i remember seeing that julian cope album on the shops when it came out. why did he have that name for the album?
just stealing a thought from a very interesting thread which i just saw.
if this date was the closing date1935 , then the significance of extra bodies taking the place of the former chosen ones here on the earth will eventualy be seen as a complete fraud why.
because the organization will eventualy produce an extra 144000 on earth still alive .
"drink up!"

spending so much time with the dubs, you probably regret losing your presious time with them all those years.. are you taking double bites, trying to make up for what you lost?
i regret going to assemblies but thats about it. i always caught colds from them. looking back i dont think that time needs to be made up. i think it was right for me then, and what i'm doing now is right for me now. you have to do what your happy to do.
during the last two months i've tried and tried to rationalize the jw view that, since these "pagan holidays are not based upon the scriptures, they must not be practices by christians".
i've spent a lot of time thinking about this, and trying to come up with their motivation for these policies.
they can't think that celebrating will actually hurt, yet they obviously can't honestly think the practice goes against the bible.. i thought it might just be another "control" for them to place on the flock - and a way to differentiate themselves from other faiths.
i've always believed that it's a way of getting more money in the contribution box. if you cant spend it on birthdays or Xmas, and you aint got time for leisure activities 'cos of meetings and study, you've got plenty of spare cash to throw away to the WTS.
the witnesses like to always talk in black and white.
either you were saved or damned.
either you served god or satan.
this phrase 'worldly person' belongs to JWs reality, not mine. they're the ones that judge people and are more interested in the flesh than the spirit, so it can stay with them.
