i would have to say any of the starwars films...i've always wanted to whip out my light saber, and make that "arcking" sound they make.

U.S. says Canada cares too much about liberties
by ashitaka inwell, i've been paranoid of my own country for a long time, but this just makes me a little more nervous.
now, our neighboring countries must live by america's rules?
i could be reading too much into this, but canada is its own sovereign nation, and they don't have to live by america's rules just because they are our neighbors.

King of the North, Daniel used for future events rather than Revelation
by Pleasuredome init struck me when i was talking to this elder today, that in order for him to get the point across about the tribulation and the attack on god's people he reffer's to daniel and starts to talk about the king of the north.
no witness as far as i know has ever done that, as they've always referred to revelation and 7 headed wild beast etc for the attack on god's people.
is 'new light' on the un, making it's way to the jws in a positve way?

Just had an elder visit

my dad was talking to them in the livivng room as i came down for my lunch.

elder D came to our house with a publisher who's 80 years old. my dad was talking to them in the livivng room as i came down for my lunch. i sat down at the table and the elder D said "hi ya, all right?" and put his thumb up to me. i said "hi, i'm all right thanks" and started to eat my lunch. remember this is the guy who had seen me at the pub, where i was 'sinning', and had starred at me without acknowleding me.
he carried on talking to my dad, and he said that he'd seen my sister about town a few times. i interrupted his conv by telling him that i saw him out a few weeks ago. he asked where. i said in W..... E.... at the B..... H..... pub. i asked him whether he saw me or not, he said that he didn't. fantastic i thought. he was either lying or is very short sighted.
i went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, and he came in and started talking to me about sports cars, and that he's looking for one to buy for the weekends, and was asking me what i would recomend. right! like he's being genuine. then he starts asking me about the "truth" saying that i hadnt been to meetings for a while, and that he had heard that i'd had some problems. i said that i'd had problems and told certain elders about them and made a statement to an elder that i wouldnt be attending meetings. he said that was fine, and then went on about world conditions and terrorism , and showed me a scripture about jesus talking about a great tribulation etc and how a few rement of annointed would still be on the earth when it comes. he asked if i agreed with that scripture and i said yes. he then went on to ask me if i still believed in 'it', to which i replied "yes" because i do believe in 'truth', my truth.
he goes on to say that i'm still in 'the truth' by what i had just said, and that i was inactive, to which i replied that i still talk to people about it (yer but in what way! lol). he said that i should think about what he was saying as he "didn't want me to miss the boat", to which i tried not to smile. he said it was good to see me and that if i had any problems to go and see him anytime. he then said farewells and was on his way.
and that was the end of that. hopefully it'll be a while before they come around again.

by Hamas inone of the main things that hits you when you leave the jw's is that maybe you haven't got all the answers like you once thought, so you begin to question everything, wouldn't you agree?.
well, my eyes were opened to the prospect of living in heaven, and not on earth like the dubya's preach.
i have listened to plenty of audio files from people that have left the witnesses and have became born again and if that floats your boat then thats great !

what about 2Cor 3:17 "Now Jehovah is the Spirit;"(NWT) 2Cor 3:18 "...as done by Jehovah the Spirit." notice how spirit is spelt with a capital S.
when talking about Jesus Heb 1:6 says "Let all God's angels worship him." (1970 NWT)
and Thomas saying "my Lord my God" John 20:28
these scriptures lead to the questioning of extreme untiarianism by the WTS. the charge that the bible may have been tampered with thousands of years ago to support the trinity, makes the trinity claim more spurious.
i believe you have to go with what you feel is right.

Another Apocalyptic No-Show - "Planet X"

those of you who follow news of phenomena and the fringe of science probably know what i'm talking about - the mysterious planet x is supposed to collide with earth on may 15th.. strangely enough, no astronomer anywhere can detect the approaching planet.
the reason is simple - it isn't there.. as the ides of may approach, life on planet earth goes on, and shall go on.

zetatalk accidently posted pics of so-called PX co-ordinates with NASA server codes, which james mccanney brought to light . these pics were claimed to have been taken independently by a certain steve havas.
when PX doesn't arrive on may 15th, everyone will then say it's all a load of bs. as far as i know the only way zetatalk can claim that PX will arrive on may 15th is through channeling info from grey aliens, yer right.
