I felt bad because I couldn't totally beleive the "2 witnesses" explanation. There must be something spiritually wrong wiith me, I thought. Also, the idea that only babtized dubs get their prayers heard. The explanation of the 6 creative days being just 42000 years in length. Spiders' design. The fact that if you sin you need to get help from the elders, or even if you know of a sin from someone else. Their explanation of John 5:28, 29. Towards the end, it was mostly the continuous self-adulation of and forced servitude of the society. It seemed as if everything they wrote had subtle prods imbedded to get out more in the field. I remember feeling bad about one statement in the WT study that said something like: " to the extent that you love Jehovah, you will be out in service every chance." Also felt my prayers were hindered because I couldn't justify not full- time pioneering and never put the mags in the windshild during vacations-actually the only vacations I scraped for were the district assemblies.

Finally received our "shepherding call" today
by Jourles init was inevitable.
after dodging the bullet for a few weeks, the elders finally made their way to our house today.
the reason i think this to be so, is because he asked me what he should write down for my report.

Jourles: I got a call the same day. Same elder that's been inviting me back over the last couple of years or so. Didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary. Offerred the last three months' mags. I had told my wife I was going to field some questions but since I just learned you can only get the mags from one of them I mentioned that alone. Maybe next time. This couple has always been very nice, especially during my first wife's illness a couple years ago. I even smoked in front of him and his wife and nothing was ever said. Maybe I'm already d.a.'d and just don't know it. At any rate, I've been trying to work up some questions for him. I thought maybe the U.N. would be a good place to start. I am not trying to trick anybody but would really like him to see the truth as I've learned it these past couple of months. Stuff from the websites, Crisis book, Gentile Times book, In Search of book, Freeminds Journal, etc. Maybe this was a special visit because he came with only his wife and she didn't get out of the car which she always has before. There're quite a few of the elders I used to hang with and I am trying to think of some way to enlighten them. Sad thing is I'm afraid once I mention anything that'll be the end of it. I'll think of something. Thanks for your story.

New Date for Armageddon?
by NeonMadman ini had an interesting chat with a jw on yahoo messenger yesterday.
of course, he was using "theocratic war strategy," at least at first, and pretended not to be a jw, but someone who was asking a lot of questions about them.
he opened the conversation by asking if i wanted to discuss 'the meaning of life'.

http://pub76.ezboard.com/flambsmarchfrm20.showMessage?topicID=2.topic I think this thread goes to a talk given by some elder about Islam and the nearness of Armaggedon (sp) and maybe The Society had been looking to the wrong part of Babylon the Great to mark the beginning of the end. I don't know if this will work or not. Nver tried copying an address and pasting it before.

Creation of the Earth...
by Aaron2 inhere's somthing that i've been trying to get feed back on.... well, here's what i believe...i thought it might be interesting to some of you... .
in my church (the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, nickname mormons), we believe that the creation was done by jehova (aka the pre-jesus christ).
we do not believe in the docrtine of trinity as most other religions do, namely that god the father, jesus christ and the holy ghost are 1 person, with just three different roles.

The plural of majesty is used here. The "us" is God talking to Jesus (Michael). Jesus was referred to as a master worker. One verse talks of him "playing with nature" in the beginning creation of earth. Jesus was the one thru whom all created things were made (I think even the angels) other than himself. The earth and this universe weren't the first creation of God. "In the beginning" refers to the beginning of the creation of the earth and its surrounding sky.

I have not received my invitation yet. They usually get around by now. Their last call was different--like I was not gonna see them anymore and they were givin up. Wondering if I shouldn't have used my name and address in another apostate website. I thought they weren't supposed to visit webs like these.

IRIDOLOGY- The Diagnostic Study Of The Iris---What Did You Think?
by minimus injw's love to get involved in non-traditional treatments.
in many of the congregations, the study of iridology was practiced.
scores of "sick" people would have "parties" where they would come and get their eyes "read".

Some years back when I was active, iridology swept thru the Miamisburg, Centerville, Kettering, OH congregations. At the time I could not beleive something so idiotic could be happenning to people who are supposed to know the truth. Of course, I never read any apostate material so didn't know the organization's history of this sort of thing. I would try to reason with brothers but all it did was make some angry. It was even announced from the platform that one shouldn't put down others' personal medical views. Families were going somewhere in Tennessee, I think to get diagnosed and spending thousands of dollars for cure programs. All this from a disfellowshipped person. What a killing he made. Some got into dire medical straits for not treating diseases conventionally. I remember one brother (who I now recognize as an idiot) who nearly lost a young son who had diabetes. One sister put off breast cancer treatment using poultices that were supposed to cause the tumor to migrate out through the skin. Sad to say. she passed away. She was a wonderful woman. After a while, 2 sides developed in the kingdom hall. The root-eaters and the conventional. You absolutely would not beleive how one brother took his coffee. I should have known this type of thinking could prevail with such a group, but totally blinded and brainwashed, I stayed in the "truth" for several more years.
