Cool. Did that once with a tube of sodium metal "borrowed" from organic chem lab at the university I attended. Would have loved to have the cesium metal.

Whats the price of gas where you live?
by JH ini just noticed that minimus has a similar thread....i guess he knew that i was going to start this thread, so he started it a few days before me........... .
gas was $1.13 a litre last night and this morning its up uto $1.22 a litre.
so it's as if gas went up from $4.27 to $4.61 a gallon overnight.

$3.03 for premium. Thank you environmentalists. Can't drill in Anwar, Alaska. Can't drill off coast of California or Florida. Can't get shale or tar sands project in Colorado or Canada going. Can't build new refineries. Also, thank you Federal Government for taxing at the pump and corporate level. Corporations don't pay taxes, they just pass the cost along.

My father died 32 years ago this month. He was only 49. At the time I thought he'd be back real soon since I was fairly new in the truth. Now, of course I see clearly and am thankful for that. He never lived to see his grandchildren. He thought my new religion was a cult. Now I am a grandfather four times over. He fought in WW II at the battle of the bulge, was dropped behind enemy lines the night before Normandy invasion (82nd Aifborne). Seems so long ago that he left. Enjoyed your reminiscing.

Why God is full of it and Satan is the man. Please read. Then Judge.
by Pinhead inhere we go: we are imperfect according to "the book".
(we: being mankind) however, satan is a fallen angel who knew, spoke and saw god.
based on what we believe.

Why do you want big returns? Why give the IRS your money all year. The best thing is to owe the max allowable by quarter or annum. It's your money, not theirs. They are not giving you anything. They are the enemy.

I'm not sure the New Testament is written in stone after looking into how the canon was agreed upon. I believe in creation simply because of the design but that could be a creator or creators that are not necessarily gods. The lack of apparent invovement, to me is a problem. ( I realise I'm on a different time frame than this creator but nontheless, it seems there would be a more clear instruction book.) It could be humans are not any more significant than ants to the creator(s) and we can't get around our self-importance.

With Albert Schroeder gone, there is a disturbance in the force...
by truthseeker inwith prince albert in heaven at jesus' right hand, there is now a gap in the force among the governing body.. the new administration is now one man short.
who will be his replacement?
maybe that's why they appointed geoffrey jackson and the other dude to gb members - they knew schroeder was going soon, maybe barr will be next.. .

I don't think it will matter. I think the lawyers are in charge. I see the gradual decline. The momentum will carry it along till it shrinks into a steady-state of a couple million. 1914-1918 is their big problem. I recently copied the old "quotes" website and some new quotes in print and on disc to give to the couple that still bring the mags to our house. After explaining the info consists solely of watchtower publications with no commentary, they refuse it because it is apostate, then it follows the choosing of them as God's channel in 1918 was based on currently apostate information. Of course they could just take it and not consider it at all. At any rate, if they don't take the info I'll stop takin' their mags.

Do you think the media tells you the truth?
by free2beme ini am always amazed at how people i would consider, smart, believe the media so much.
they will say they have gone to college or have read information on topics, and then be swayed in their thinking by one news program.
do you trust the media?

I think Fox news is fair and balanced and unafraid. I like Brit Hume as anchor. I think the local paper, Dayton Daily News is a left wing rag. I was unaware of the liberal bias in the news media till I began researching some of the stuff Dan Rather put out. I like Sean Hannity and Neal Boortz (till he ticks me off sometimes).

When were the Watchtower's best moments?
by JH inare they in their best moments right now, since they never had as many witnesses as now worldwide, or were their best days somewhere in 1950's or 60's or 70's before deception set it.
did the watchtower ever have any credibility somewhere in time?

Absolutely, Gary Buss. Well said. I went thru the hype of the 70's and 80's. They set themselves up a defining moment in 1966 which resonated with the internet in 1995. If they wanna start suggestin' 120 years as the waiting period, remember, their first starting point was 1799 or at least 1874 when Jesus didn't show up.
