Would you buy this XJW coffee mug?
by coult9056 inbecause i have a sense of humor about the many failed prophecies of the jw's, i've always wanted some ex-jw merchandise with some class and humor to go with it.
i've considered marketing a few of my ideas.....coffee mugs, shirts, etc.
there are so many areas to go (no blood, no military service, college = devil's propaganda, etc.

Ghostly WT Illustrations
by prophecor inis it just me, or do the illustrations in the watchtower and other related material have an eerie, almost ghostlike appearance?
especially the ones that depict the new system.
the spirit that's reflected in them is of an almost mindless, robotic stepford wives type of mentallity, or maybe irobot, i don't know.

Hey, almost a, you've been thinking again. Actually, you may never stop thinkin' about this. After the disaster, it made it easier not to believe or to believe something else. I can see how something could come into existence and then change over time with no designer. The thing that keeps me from totally being an atheist or agnostic is the design discussion. In a three dimensional universe, a lot can just happen by itself it seems. Even great odds occur regularly without having to resort to parallel universe scenarios. i.e.- you're here as you are. What are the odds for that? 200 million to one times itself for every conception leading to you plus all the other mitigating factors thrown in. Those odds still are not even close to those that led to a universe with us in it. You could have space and matter occur as a quantum fluctuation but even that requires an initial set of statutes. I don't know, I see no evidence from the Bible (who determined what books were in the canon?) If one is spared from some catostrophe after prayer, what happenned to the rest that prayed and died? That's all chance. Sometimes I wonder if there have not been competing superior forces (intelligent) at work in the universe and especially historically on earth all vieing to be called the creator. Mortality bothers me a lot. I see consciousness as the work of pure physical connections in the brain or perhaps even fields in the brain. We are what we percieve and have learned to percieve and remember about ourself. Lose any small part of that part of the brain and you are different at once. When your cells can no longer divide (telomere reduction?) or pathology or time and unforseen occurence takes your life, you are permanently gone. Other than any genetic legacy left behind, it is as it was before you were concieved. I see no evidence of a soul and it doesn't make sense anyway. I can see how one's mental patterns could be saved and then restored but that (to me) is not a resurrection, it is a recreation. After all what would it be like if the original was not destroyed? Thinking through that discussion leads to the obvious. So, I think this is it. It is no big tragedy if this is all there is. After all, it was no big tragedy before you existed. Is it futile?

My Deleted Elder Friend Stopped By.......
by minimus inwith his wife to say that it's been 3 months since my daughter's wedding and in october he got deleted for going to it even though the presiding overseer told him it was a "conscience matter.
period.
".....the circuit overseer saw it differently and removed my friend as an elder amd my mom as a regular pioneer because of a letter sent only to circuit overseers in 1999!!!!

I would wager there is some jealousy in the local body of elders. Someone thought that by removing him there were advantages to themselves. This is a good way to yank someone out. The CO. Find something on the CO or threaten to do so.

Read the bible to your girlfriend and avoid late night TV.
by IronGland inif you are courting, be determined to remain chaste, even when talking on the phone.
an engaged christian woman named leticia says: "my fiance and i have read together bible-based articles on staying chaste.
we appreciate the way they have helped us maintain a clean conscience.

"covered up... to manufacture Christian creeds"
by one inreview season ?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6653824/site/newsweek/?ng
"the da vinci code," one of the most widely read books of our time, is partly built around the assertion that the early church covered up important facts about jesus in order to manufacture christian creeds.

Yeah, Satanus, just what was it that was transferred to Mary's womb? I think this was cloning that took 9 months or so. What happenned to the original? With no continuity, a resurrection is a copy, preprogrammed. What happens to the original if this ocurred simultaneously? It continues to exist till it dies at which point it becomes clear the copy is just that.

Heavenly ham from Dorothy Lane Market, a witness owned mega-store. Very upscale and profitable. One of the best markets in the midwest. Very good service, clean cut workers, and a credit to the community. The owner is a terrific fellow with a beautiful wife and family and very personable and reasonable about the religion when he can make it. Very successful and wealthy. This was the best Christmas Eve celebration with my family yet. 8 below zero and 20 inches of snow on the ground this morning in Germantown, Ohio.

It would be a sin. Ray Franz was kicked out for this. You will subject your family to living with an unclean conscience, hindering of their prayers, lack of success in field service, and finally, a sharing of sins to others who may know of this insidious action resulting in the removal of Jehovah's Spirit from the congregation. You are to be considered as worse than a person of the nations or as Muslims say, an infidel. It is proper for you to be cursed and requested to be destroyed at the Great Tribulation. After all, "it is impossible as regards those who have been once and for all enlightened to the truth and having fallen back to revive them to repentance again. For they [you] revile the Son of Man afresh and there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left [for you] but a certain fearful expectation coming upon you;" You should prevent their anhialation be removing any temptation for them to save money. I would simply pay for their lodging someplace near their resort. That way at least some in your family may live on and not have their eyes picked out by birds as righteous people (witnesses, baptized or going to be and current in field service and having no secrets before the elders) look on. You are in held in derision by God and as such unworthy of your next breath according to the WTBS.
