Been there a lot over last two years with old failing blunders from previous dentist. No insurance other thatn tax flex acct. Just had a redone root canal with crown removed which failed one day before my scheduled spinal fusion surgery. Had to have dental surgery for hour opening up flap and all because tooth would not come out because he could not use leverage off the adjacent super expensive dental implant.Back surgery rescheduled and done (successful so far). That makes 3 implants more for next year @ total 9000$. 2yrs ago broke same tooth on other side with a Kroger stuffed olive. They would not pay. First dentist broke tooth off below gum (vertical root fracture) and could not finish removing. Sent to surgeon who worked 2 hrs and could not get out. Had his very experienced partner finish job but opened hole to sinus so had to have graft. This cost 900$ and 4 hrs in chair and tons of novacaine. gotta eat.

banned bands and songs
by aoxo inanybody have the bethal list of banned musicians and songs.
i remember after my sister got baptised she said that the brother who dunked her under told her not to listen to a song, i think it was "new sensation" or something like that which was a popular song for the 80's period.
i remember a lot of songs being banned because of lyrics that had nothing to do with what they thought it had to do with.

I remember at the circuit assy. they said in a talk, Antrax, Motley Crue, Sabbath. One elder gave a talk in our congregation entitled "Do you know what a swan song is?" This elder was an illiterate briar who started the talk with a small tape player held next to the microphone playing Heart's "Magic Man". I thought the song sounded cool played over our p.a. system at the hall. I think his last name was Mullins or something like that. The point of the talk was those kinds of songs and bands would soon be replaced in Jehovah's loving kingdom with wholesome kingdom melodies. That was about the time Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was taking off. That would have been from southwest Ohio between Dayton and Cincinnati. There were a lot of briar uneducated elders who loved the only time they were given any kind of authority outside their families. God they made me laugh.

Watchtower Evolution Fraud
by Amazing inthe watchtower society first published a book on evolution in the late 1960s or early 1970s, simply known as the evolution book.
it is a small hardbound book, the same in size at the old "truth" book.
other than reading it, i never really studied it.

I remember the Francis Hitching quotes and this shows how brain washed I was. I recall questioning about Hitching and accepting the explanation he was a reknown scientist in addition to being a comic commentator on science matters similar to the author of Hichhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. I also recall the comments by Robt. Gentry in Popular Science. magagzine that dating methods could be off by a factor of a thousand. I even sent this article to the Society and it appeared not long after in the Make Sure Book and then the newer Evolution book. Don't know if I was their source but am very pleased to be rid of that organization and return to normal thinking. I enjoy Alan F's commentary immensely. Carlton

'Time', not a constant in the Universe!
by Outaservice inwhen i was a good ole jw, going out in service, counting my 'time', i noticed something strange.. i could drive to one side of the county, make a back-call, and then drive clear through town as slow as i could and then out of town to the other side of the county to make another back-call.
the total time it took to do this was about 6 minutes.. if i was not out in service and was trying to rush, say to a movie, it took at least 45 minutes to get through town alone!
what causes this phenomenon?.

Yes, I have observed this phenomenon. Space is increased linearly according to how great your desire to get thru service.
