Dammit LT, you continue to go up in my estimation! You really have to come back soon.
Like Scully, it makes me uncomfortable.
if you aren't a "believer", does it bother you when someone says "i'll pray for you" or "i prayed for you"?.
one of my colleagues is an incredibly kind and sweet person, and i know she says it because she believes she's doing something good on my behalf.
i always say "thank you for thinking of me", because i know that's the spirit she's intending to convey and that she cares about the situation i'm in vis-a-vis my jw relatives, but she knows i no longer believe in god (at least not in the sense that she does) - i wonder does she think that a few prayers are going to change my mind?

as everyone had guessed, the election has been set for may 5th.
personally, this is my first opportunity 'post wt mind-control' to vote for our next government.
i don't suppose that i will - 40 years of 'neutrality' and non-involvement have rather flattened my desire to take part in political change.. how about you?
Is LibDem the default electoral choice of exJWs I wonder? Should that make us suspicious of the LibDems?
seriously, just wondering.
they (dubs) say that most of us are booted 'cause of that.
i personally was but only because i was already out mentally and in every other sense.
It's the Entered Apprentice from the Cremaster Cycle. I'll leave you to do the research.

You're not. They're just poking fun at your apparent obsession.

Maybe this'll help you decide.
now that i'm finally back, having got my report out of the way for the current stage of my studies, i thought it about time i posted an update of my travels.. i recently had a "wee jolly" away from the island that wasn't without incident.. i left in the wee hours of the morning on friday 1st april, and i can assure you that catching a boat at 6:30am, with a poor weather forecast, is no joke.
having said my hellos to some fellow passengers, that i recognised, i decided to catch some zzzzzeds on one of the couches.. i awoke about three hours later, and rushed downstairs to the galley to get a big-ass full traditional breakfast (complete with black pudding, but no beans ).
after guzzling it down, the boat was near port, so i decided to splash some water on my face before heading down to the car deck.

Tempted to turn gay? Remind us of where you are on the Kinsey scale.

rebel8, the book lists that the Priory of Sion is a fact, when it is in fact a hoax, hence the debunking.
It's trash but fun, with the the right amount of recognisable locations and institutions to make you suspend your disbelief, albeit temporarily.
It did strike me last week that the M on JP2's coffin could read as further evidence of a Mary Magdalene cover up...
tonight i was out having dinner with a friend/colleague i've known for five or six years.
the conversation turned to religion: first religion in politics, then his general distaste for religion, and then his lack of a religious upbringing.
there was a lull for a moment, and then i said "it was pretty much the reverse situation in my household.
I have no problem with people knowing I was a Witness, most are interested in finding out about a relatively unknown part of society. It's spawned many a dinner party discussion. And if it were to affect how someone percieved me, then that's their problem, not mine.
some of you may remember me, seeker4, from several hundred posts 3 to 6 years ago.
i recognize some of the names in today's forums, and maybe some of you remember me.
don't confuse me with seeker - i'm s4.
Hi
My experience was that having resigned as an elder and ceased attending meetings for two years, the elders began to pursue me when it became apparent that I was in a homosexual relationship. I ignored their calls but let them know (via the thriving JW grapevine) that I would take legal action if they continued calling. They called the dogs off. They were however, a rather young and naive bunch of elders and I didn't have your stellar profile so a legal a threat may be futile.
About 18 years ago there was a similar situation to yours within my extended family. The catalyst was different in that the JW spouse took her life a year after her husband (ex elder and C.O.) left her for another woman. He hadn't been to meetings in a decade and was quite open about his complete disbelief but was disfellowshipped because of his previously high profile and the tragic circumstances.
I'm sorry that I can't relate a more positive experience to you but it seems that you may have to bite the bullet, and see how you family reacts. Good luck and I hope your partner is a good support.
what do you all think of prince charles and camilla?
i think it's horrible and teaching a horrible lesson.
look at us, it' okay to cheat on your spouses, because in the end we'll get each other anyway.
You think that infidelity is low class? You guys are hilarious!
