I'd think the positive contributions of gays in arts, science, and such would sway a angry white man like me. to tolerance .. cause they have.
The gay contribution to science arts and society has always been there but went on unnoticed until some got militant and started waving flags and going on marches. You're obviously not the angry white man you like to present yourself as!

Gay people are like everyone else, a mixture of cool, middling and tossers.

What puts us angry white men off about gays is the freak parade that the media wants to front as the Gay image. Heteros dont make that kind of statement about our lifestyle and those extremists that get all the attention on Gay Pride day sort of scare the un-initiated.
I beg to differ, every day the hetero lifestyle is waved in our face. You need to look at advertsing, sitcoms and movies a little more closely. Gay Pride marches are a response of a minority and previously suppressed group in response to this. The marches didn't start as celebrations, they started as protest and in many countries still are. You just need to look at the events that took place in Russia last year.
While not being a Pride attending gay man I appreciate that these marches contributed to the relative freedoms I enjoy today.

while i have no desire to be 'in charge' of a bunch of wild apostates if you let me know how many of you there are and where you're staying I'll be able to point you in the right direction.

So what is the current plan regarding what we do on what evenings?
Go on the lash? I'll be around that weekend and am happy to act as chaperone some of the time and steer you round some of the better pubs that aren't full of tourists. I'm an architectural historian and i'd be glad to give anyone a wee tour if their interests lie in buildings. feel free to message me.

Are Witnesses ''allowed'' to attend funeral of a known homosexual? Quotes?
by ThomasCovenant inhelp needed as i can't access my wt cd rom.
is there anything in the society's literature to say that a 'brother' shouldn't attend the funeral of a person who was known to be homosexual.
if so could someone provide references/quotes.

Have they printed stuff that could be viewed as discriminatory against being gay?
lol depends what you mean by discriminatory! I think they have always differentiated between practising and non practising. They wouldn't permit a civil partnership to take place in a KH, but as they wouldn't allow any nonJW ceremony there it's not discriminatory.
What you looking for?

Don't have access to the CDROM just now but have never heard of such a rule. And I'm aware of some witnesses attending the funerals of colleagues who were gay without there being repercussions.

I thought it would be kind of exciting - living in the hills, no meetings or door to door stuff. I was however, very afraid of nuclear war - skin peeling off and bleeding gums apalled me.
