No I sang, "Hang the School Overseer, hang the School overseer..."
Doesn't have quite the same ring to it! Mozzer lyrics were never spotted.
when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

I got counselled for using the word "smorgasbord" in a talk. I can't recall what it was referring to and to be fair, me and my friend did try to incorporate words that made us laugh, or song lyrics - usually The Smiths. And yes, sideburns and hair length cropped up periodically.
that's right guys.
as i told you before, they boe have been considering me for the eldership.
which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.
ps - do not ever accuse me of watchtower speak!!! lol
sorry, the combination of old, traits and pursue gave me the heebie jeebies. You'll loose the wtbts accent eventually!
that's right guys.

we want to remove the old WT traits not pursue them.
LOLSounds like Watchtower speak to me.
Hypocrisy is a human trait, and we all engage in it to differing degrees. Feigning a belief while attending meetings, accepting the label of JW while not believing their doctrines are, to me, hypocritical. But understandable. LittleToe is one of the few who left with integrity, and no hypocrisy, but that route isn't for everyone.
OOTB may manage to be an elder for a while, but it's unlikely he'll sustain it. If you cease to believe then you'll only remain for the power trip, and he doesn't sound like that. Please note that I'm not saying "power to you" to OOTB - i think he's on a hiding to nowhere that he'll find unpleasant an unproductive, but i'm not prepared to damn him.

sheesh we're a right black'n'white bunch.
he'll be a hypocrite, big deal. Those of you that are actively fading are hypocrites too. I'm intrigued by the cut and dry way 'elders' are painted, as all powerful monsters. A few are, most aren't and there are lots that were a complete waste of space - im sure ootb can fit snuggly into the last category.
But then again, maybe i've been out too long.

LOL any idea that your appointment may rock people's notions of the power, or existence, of the holy spirit is out of the question. Like you I was appointed an elder while not believing in it and when I eventually cracked and left, THAT event was taken as evidence of the holy spirit. I think you're underestimating the JW mindset. But i totally understand why you are taking the path you are. Good luck.
what a great film on how good parents should react.
It seemed a good template for lots of parents. But some JW parenting's a little closer to that in There Will Be Blood.

apologies if this has been posted already..
I'm with slimboyfat & Heathen
People leave the JWs and no longer identify with them, unlike many other groups. I get the impression from lapsed Catholic/Jews/Mormons and Muslims that they still identify with their faith of birth while no longer practising it. Few lapsed JWs will label themselves as such, even if they are believers, because it's instilled into them that unless you are Witnessing you're not a JW.
This would explain the difference in some of the figures.
in fact, if what you are has 'people' after it, no matter what it is, i like you.
you don't have to club baby seals to be my friend.. myeah..
Actually the weding party you pictured was in need of a gay wedding director.
Those dresses were a little... well, Frank (Martin Short, Father of the Bride) wouldnt approve.........
