It's like a bloated episode, but worth it for a fan.

Bi-Sexual
by misguided ini guess my new-found freedom of personal expression is working its way down to my kids.. i came home from a crazy day at work, ate my dinner, was loading the dishwasher, when my 13-year-old son says, .
"mom, i have something to tell you - i'm bisexual...i've been that way for a year now.
i still can't help but have my old jw brain at work, thinking this is not okay - kind of like, i'm an apostate with a bisexual son...what will my family say?!

Top marks to you Rose for being so approachable. It sounds to me like you don't need too much advice from us, having handled the news well, just keep the lines of communication open and forget about your witness family. They have no right to know.
As a caveat to EF's advice I'd be careful about telling him everything you feel (i.e. the JW programmed thoughts) because once something's said, it's hard to take it back. My own mother told me that she'd rather I was dead than gay, before she found out I was. To her credit, despite being a JW she regrets saying it now.
Good luck!

Male or Female
by love2Bworldly ini have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.
because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.
well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?

Anyone been to Greece?
by unbeliever ini am seriously considering going to greece for my next vacation.
i have been looking at websites and they look like nothing but tourist traps.
i plan to do the whole athens tour but i want to check out some of the islands.

Try the Cyclades, they are lovely. I'd personally recommend Naxos and Milos as non touristy and full of Greeks. The blue of the Aegean is burned into my brain, it's as if the sea is full of indigo dye. I was on Zakynthos last year and although I enjoyed it, it is being overwhelmed by tourism. Kos is awful.Mainland Greece is also lovely, Meteora is unlike anywhere else. And the Pelion peninsula is beautiful.

I'm sorry Brooke, but I don't find those images pornographic, nor would ownership of them convince me that an individual was a paedophile.

Agreed, which is probably why Western culture usually demarks the bedroom as sacrosanct. ; Then again, it could have been more to do with our victorian forebearers.
How right you are LT. Slum clearances of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries were, in part, an effort to address perceptions of incest amongst the poor because entire families lived in one room flats.
