Obves correct! Yearbook 75 says BABIES who take blood won't live forever!!!
by Witness 007 inyearbook 75 p.223-224 witness couple and their 6 day old cheryl, who needed blood.
"darell and rhoda correctly viewed blood transfusion as a violation of god's law, and thus oposed it.
they were concerned about the babies welfare, for everlasting life is only the prospect of those adhering to god's laws.

The more I read and hear about this cult, the more blessed and happier I am that I've never been involved with it!

JWs after the Watchtower?
by Zapper_1 inhas it ever occurred to any one that, unlikely as it seems, jws could continue as a religion if the watchtower collapses?
of course, i don't mean that all congregations would continue to exist - many, or even most, would probably fade away too.
however, there may be a few congregations with enough enlightened leadership to keep their people together.

However, there may be a few Congregations with enough enlightened leadership to keep their people together. These Congregations might go their own separate ways or some might unite in some sort of new organization/alliance or even several such groups. Who knows? There may even be a few Elders already in place who are astute enough to see the handwriting on the wall and are quietly and subtlely making preparations for such an eventuality. Of couse, this pure speculation on my part, but it would certainly be interesting to see what direction the new religion(s) would take. Zapper_1

On Finding the "Truth"
by Dogpatch inon finding the "truth" a former jehovah's witness asks: .
what troubled me most as a jw was that how i could be sure i had the truth.
if you choose a religion and claim it as the truth, it's like saying you are smarter than anyone who believe other religions... imho.

I've often wondered why JWs "have the truth" while mainstream Christianity believes "in the truth" or "the truth". Do you suppose it's just cultic jargon?

Let's Review: How the Watchtower Society Uses Quickbuilds to Make More $$$
by under_believer ini posted something similar to this in another thread, but i decided that this is an important subject, and something that a lot of people don't realize, so i expanded it into its own post.
and we can always use a review now and then, so that lurkers, active witnesses, and newly ex-witnesses can catch up.
according to the watchtower society, one of the best examples of god's holy spirit operating on the organization is the building program.

I've known for a long time that what under_believer says about the Watchtower's Qucik Build scam is true. However, I wondered what would happen if a local Congregation went to a bank and got a commercial loan (I didn't know it was forbidden to do that). Even so, it would be interesting to see what would hasppen if a Congregation raised enough money to build a KH without WT money. Does anyone think the Congregation would have the nerve to insist that it owned the hall & not the org?

by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .
but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.
am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????
