Nope. But there are a lot of books that make men and women "curious" about homosexuality, and cause a lot of people to lean towards experimentation... usually, if a person stays gay or lesbian after experimentation, they've come out.

After all.. why CHOOSE to be something that isn't exactly welcomed in society? It's much much harder to be gay or lesbian than it is to be straight because of the extent of persecution faced by homosexuals daily. ...

.. but... if I had to guess on that book thing, anything by the Watchtower, if prolonged exposure occurs, could probably turn a person gay... after all, it damn near kept me straight...

He posted stuff on the 21st about jw's being the only true religion, and it pissed me off because the active ones come on here and it's like, not bad enough that most of us run into them every day aand get shunned, now they have to come on the boaards and get all condescending and expect us to be these stupid fools who somehow "missed" all that crap at the meetings. Ugh, I hate it.

Are you gay? How did you come to terms with that? Do you still have a relationship with GOD and how did you come to terms with that?

Welcome to the board Butterfly! My name on here is Naru, but my real name is Gayle. I'm 22, and I came out and disassociated when I was 20 years old. I'm openly a lesbian and I hardly hesitate these days to hide who i am. ^_^

How did I come to terms with it?? Well, it took an elder meeting for me to not feel the immediate fear, but it's been quite a process. I struggle sometimes, because as you know coming out is so damned hard, and feeling the opposition is even worse. I spent a lot of time getting to know myself better, and that helped me to get to know what I wanted to do with my life. I have aa wonderful girlfriend who has been with me since I came out, so 1.5 years now. ^_^ She and I live happily together in an apartment, and are working diligently towards a better life.

I have no relationship with God IF you evaluate it by JW definitions. I do not attend any christian churches because I'm still wounded from the JW stuff... but I also have no desire for belief in a god right now. That's a personal feeling nothing more... I didn't come to terms with it yet, two years and counting... Don't expect it to be easy but you'll find your way. Just.. hmm... don't forget to let yourself live once in a while. ^_^ PM me if you want to talk more bout this stuff, or e-mail [email protected] and we'll chat. IF you're so faithful to your organization, WHY. ARE. YOU. POSTING. ON. AN. APOSTATE. WEBSITE???

Obviously you doubt your faith if you're on here. Realize two things before you pick your little brainwashed minds up and leave:

1. EVERYBODY on this board was once an ACTIVE JW, meaning we've heard the rhetoric over and over again "John 17: 3 says bla bla bla and that's why you should be a mindless robot just like the other 6 million morons in our organization..."

2. We all left for different reasons, most of them valid, and most of them are things YOUR RELIGION makes excuses for not taking care of. I've heard the argument that "The faithful and discreet slave is not perfect..." Well, they've made some pretty huge mistakes for someone who calls themselves a mediator between a large body of people and God.

Stop thinking you know better than us all, because really, you don't.

You're here for a reason, now, obviously one you wouldn't tell your elders about. Why don't you shut up and read and then post something that isn't the same crap the Watchtower shovels down your throat every damned day???

i am currently 18 years of age, although i am not the ''ideal'' christain boy, i have strong faith in jehova.

The bible says a LOT of things that we don't take as literal... just because it's in the bible doesn't mean it's the truth... and especially if JWs interpret it, it definitely means it's not the truth. Read into how they educate those who write the magazines and books, and you'll see. If you research the anthropological definition of an evangelical cult, you'l also see what I'm talking about. Hold strong to your convictions, but KNOW what they are before you believe in them. I made the mistake of being a JW and not doing the research... now that I have, I feel duped.

What've you got to lose, right? You'll either feel less guilty for being who you are today or you'll feel vindicated because you've proven your religion correct. This way you won't be a fence-straddler, and you'll have some info behind what you say. That is a jw teaching, anyway right? "Arm yourselves." or something to the like.

Think about it.

What's up dude. Look, everybody on this board, including myself, have been hurt by JWs, so don't expect any sympathy for them. As a whole, JWs are quite an evil religion for what they practice. Maybe they have some things that seem righteous, but the underlying teaching is the same as in any cult, and I say that as a graduating college student with a strong biblical background as an ex-jw.

Take off the rose-coloured glasses and dig into www.freeminds.org and you'll gain such a huge grasp on what bothers those of us on here who are still bleeding from JW-inflicted wounds. Some people on here were disfellowshipped for taking blood transfusions, and haven't spoken to family members in years because of WT teachings that are CONSTANTLY changing and finding 'new light.'

In my experience, it's not worth it. Christianity as a whole is not worth it. Religion is truly a snare and a racket and JWs are really no different than any other religion, including cults. Do the Research and don't touch a single Watchtower publication when you do it.

Then you'll know the 'truth' and the 'truth' will set you free.

I chose it because I didn't want to come out of the closet, and I trusted my best friend because she was smart... I thought "someone this smart couldn't be wrong about this. I'd never met a smart religious person before. It was always an oxymoron, and Dana was very well read, well-versed in JW Bible Rhetoric, and could defend herself in a religious argument. I thought that meant she had truth... I was wrong as hell.

Define righteousness and I'll let you know. How do you define something that can't be defined? JWs define everything to the WTBS standards, and not universally. Their definitions are biased, so living righteously depends on what righteousness is. I am openly homosexual, and to me that is perfectly righteous way of life. To a JW, it's not.

Do you really believe it's a cult?

Yes, 100 percent. The uniform beliefs, the structure of shunning, the "faithful and discreet slave' mask for their leader, YES. ITS. A. CULT.

If the bible says do not fornicate, commit adultery, defoul the human body (your temple) , ect...and this religion just happened to TRY and abide by all these rules, does that make them a cult or genuinely God fearing people?

All religious organizations are a cult by anthropological definition, but JWs take it to the extreme. Shunning is MEDICALLY DOCUMENTED now as causing psychotic behavior and basically messing up a person's head. Yeah, that's really christian, making your friend suffer. Besides, the Bible is full of s--t to believe, its' all in how you interpret it. Dubs take that right away from a human being. They take away your right to think freely.

I didn't want to come out of the closet, so i joined the ranks... my best friend was one... it sucks, cuz it was my formative period in my life... 17 years old... she tole me "You already have good morals, you just need to know more about the bible.' so I learned... the only 'research' i did was read the research my bible study woman showed me that she'd 'researched'. I didn't know half of it was published by the WTS... bastards.
