  Islam's Hour of Judgement

  countries, governments, and social systems all can encounter a special time of judgement - a unique moment in history.

  when they must face reality and survive - or wither away as another of humanity's dead ends.. the muslim world has entered such a time.

  they must progress or face a destruction of their own making.. i'm shocked at how few people actually appreciate the danger that 9-11 exposed.

  hyah!.

  so, since i left the borg, i've been exploring all kinds a cool stuff that i wasn't allowed to do.

  rated r movies, blood sausages, rap music, wearing my hat backwards, patriotism, sex.. so, you know how the society and other fundies are always saying that heavy metal is the tool of the devil?

  Back to the Basics

  if for the most part others are done with their arguing i have a sincere question.

  my family has been going to a church for about a year.

  for awhile it was every sunday, until i found and began reading this forum.

  If the children are young, expose them to as many open points of view as you can. The Unitarian Universalists got this one down pat---those people celebrate EVERY holiday that has ever existed! LOL And they teach the origin and purpose of each one too and the 'sunday school' is always packed.! However, by the time 'children' are in their teens, there is not a whole lot left you can 'teach' them about religion, especially if you are searching. Now if you look at that from the other side...searching out your own spirituality and experiencing different religions yourself is the best lesson you can pass on to any kid. Spirituality should not be closed into a religion. It should be open-ended, exciting, satisfying, enriching. Let the teenager come into a religion if they want to, on their own schedules. You can of course watch out for the dangerous stuff that is out there, you know better. But certainly if a teenager does not want to have anything to do with a religion at this time in their lives---they are probably better off than the ones who get entrapped into cults. The age most fundy groups snag their converts is around 16. If you laid a good foundation with your children when they were young children, whether it was JWs or not, that is what will come back to them when the hormones and thrill of adulthood wears off and they need to talk to Higher Being... a very wise XJW mom of 4 once passed on this gem: just because YOU were committed to JEHOVAH as god when they were young, does not mean THEY were. Most of the time all they will remember is that you were committed to god.

  hey COLD!

  I got an idea. Not too many JW weddings I have been too have a real nice guest book. Buy a Guest Book for the gift --one that allows for addresses with the explanation that it will be for sending out the Thank-you cards afterward.....then steal the book--temporarily. You now have all the addresses of all the attenders and you can send them copies of the UN letter. Then discreetly give the book back...'oh I found your book! it got kicked under the table and I didnt want it to get ruined....'

  lack of optimism is ok folks. I see little to be optimistic about myself. I will tell you what I am asking for your opinions for. I have an idea for a novel where ultimately all the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are atleast trying to survive in some measure of peace and happiness. My husband said it wont sell since I am making the good guys the real bad guys. But I personally think that that is what will sell it. I am so bloody sick of all these 'left behind' sort of armageddon novels...this time I want to make the 'sons of god' the bad ones...the ones with the hidden agendas...i want to try to incorporate every conspiracy theory from the last 50 years....but I want to pin the illuminati as the moral majority, not the black helicopter flying zionists....I want to turn it all on its head. Has any gamers here played Soul Reaver? It is a game where seraphim are killed in a war and reanimated into vampires who eat souls. Sounds pretty cut and dry, but it isn't. The good guys became the bad guys unwillingly, but some of them liked it. Then you find out the bad guys who did this horrible thing did not act alone and the real bad guys are the ones who started it all including the ones who started the war on both sides of it... I would LOVE to see this made into a movie!

  so I wanted to know what most people WANT for the future. Because I have personally been involved now with Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Witchcraft(a few different traditions), Roman Catholicism, Unitarian Universalists, Satanists, Deists, Atheists, Yankees, Rednecks, and assorted fundys of every color and creed. and basically everyone answers the question the same way. The idealists trust mankind will right itself and pull thru without too much damage to the planet. the realists see it all as a straight shot to self aniliation, perhaps deservedly so. So when you take away all those labels we call ourselves and each other...WHO ARE THE REAL GOOD GUYS AND THE REAL BAD GUYS?

  Birthday!

  well, actually my birthday is sunday, may 18th.

  but i was born on a friday night at 9:57 pm eastern time us and it was a full moon...so i guess technically my birthday was last night's full moon.

  my new friends at the local sca group(re-enactors)are having a barbecue on sunday and i am going to bake a cake and we will all celebrate.

  that's me...mostly....but I was born only 2 hours 3 minutes off Gemini. On a fullmoon, Friday, in Scorpio. Sag Rising....basically I am a mess! A very sexual mess.

  what's a kingdom song you can remember singing that gives you the creeps now?

  mine is "move ahead" i think that was the title, anyway it has so much rhetoric... but the tune is so darn catchy.... darn.... in my opinion, those songs are the perfect example of mind control.

  speaking of crappy KH music and weddings.....it was a joke at every wedding we went to that they should all play the one that went 'move ahead move ahead to maternity...it's the will of our god that you gain fertility...try your best to reproduce for the ministry...and then our god your womb will bless!'

  I remember sitting in the livingroom hearing my sister SCREAMING in her bedroom with the door closed with my elder father in there 'trying to reason with her'--at the LEAST it was emotional and mental abuse, I suspect it was physical, don't even want to think it might have been sexual. All my mother could say to me was, "I wish she would just cooperate and get it over with..."

  I was 13, she was 9 and we had been going thru this our whole lives.

  I KNOW where you are coming from with your comments, caustic or not.
