  Demonic Influence While Intoxicated

  scripture consistently warns against intoxication, highlighting how substance abuse weakens judgment and opens individuals to spiritual deception.

  while various herbs were used in biblical worship, they were only burned as incense, never smoked or ingested.

  additionally, there is no historical record of marijuana being used in ceremonial worship, either in the bible or among ancient civilizations.. warnings against intoxication and loss of judgment.

  i recently had a heart attack, after arriving at a&e they gave me an angiogram and it was discovered i need a bypass (quadruple).

  will i was being prepared for surgery to consultant said he needed to speak to me and he said on your notes it says you’re a jw (i’ve been out over 20 years) i said no and i was willing to accept blood and my notes were updated.

  i dread to think what would have happened if i had been unconscious and unable to clarify the situation.

My mum was with me (she’s a jw and we have recently reconnected) and she knows my views but I have a niggling doubt that she may have followed her beliefs if I was unable to consent. So please make sure your medical notes are updated as this could cost you your life

  The Book Study Group - Reminiscing

  any fond memories or funny stories relating to the old book study arrangement?.

  i remember a time when a new sister turned up with very smart jacket and shirt.

  yet she was wearing trousers and when questioned by everyone she said "blimey, i think geoff (her husband) is wearing my skirt!".

  We used to host the book study at our house and my wife bought a pet tarantula. Was a lovely thing used to sit on my shoulder while i watched to. Well one day one of the kids asked to see it, so we brought it out, followed by much over dramatic screaming and people fleeing the house. A couple of weeks later it was announced from the platform that the book study was being moved. They never said anything to us about and we were left in the dark. Though we never got a reason why we assumed it was because of the spider. There were some awful sisters in the book study

  Kingdom hall cleaning

  what are your memories of hall cleaning?.

  i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.

  the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.

  it appears the perp got the victims disfellowshiped!

  the state attorney general has re-opened the botched case.. "the trial for a jehovah’s witness elder accused of molesting three girls in 1999 began in a lancaster county court monday with lawyers giving opening statements to the jury.. norman aviles-garriga, 45, was charged by the pennsylvania attorney general with two counts of aggravated indecent assault and 16 related offenses in connection with assaults alleged by three women who say the abuse happened when they were girls.. aviles-garriga is one of five pennsylvania jehovah's witnesses charged by a statewide grand jury with using their positions within their churches to sexually abuse children.

  the attorney general’s office brought charges against the men in october 2022 and february 2023.. .

  from the earliest of times of the catholic church's ecumenical councils were used to make major changes to its doctrinal direction.

  decisions were made by bishops, they were ratified by the pope ... and it was done.

  and the laity had to accepted them or not.. and while splinter catholic religions accepted most of these councils, non-trinitarian faiths which developed latter (of which jehovah's witnesses are apart) did not.

  Visiting old churches

  when i was a jw i did and still enjoy visiting old churches and cathedrals because of the history and amazing architecture of these wonderful old buildings.

  a sister in my old congregation regaled us with a story of a visit to the tower of london and walking up this crowded narrow staircase only to discover it led to an old chapel.

  the way she described her horror at almost entering you would have thought they were doing human sacrifices.

  When I was a JW i did and still enjoy visiting old churches and cathedrals because of the history and amazing architecture of these wonderful old buildings. A sister in my old congregation regaled us with a story of a visit to the Tower of London and walking up this crowded narrow staircase only to discover it led to an old chapel. The way she described her horror at almost entering you would have thought they were doing human sacrifices. I couldn’t understand her attitude. Did anyone else visit old churches and cathedrals to enjoy the architecture when they were still JW’s

  Snakes had legs until Eden curse! Watchtower 1880 till 1974!!!

  often flicking through watchtower bound volumes i would see pictures of eden which shows the snake in the tree of knowledge with legs??

  even the photo drama of creation shows a snake with legs.. watchtower 1964 p.352 "genisis 3;14 {snake}on your belly you will go and dust you shall eat...before god curse it the snake had legs, that elivated it above the ground...god transformed it's body so that it ceased to have legs and was able to move on it's belly.".

  god's eternal purpose 1974 "god did not put a curse on the whole serpent family...it had only been victimized by satan.. forrest gump watchtower science is price-less!.

  i got the internet in my house and realised it's all lies....but as a pioneer/ministerial servant i chose to fade.

  see i had family and friends who were fully strict witnesses.

  so i played the poor lost soul brother who is not sure what's happening.
