Turns out the lady hasn't given up after all. She showed up the other day, and said, "When you are done going to that other church, then we can get back to our studies."

Hey people. :)
I think the lady I was studying with has finally given up on me.
Some JWs came to the door the other day while I was on the phone with my mom. My hubby answered the door and came to the room and said, "It was just some Bible thumpers."
My mom said, "It could have been Jehovah's Witnesses."
And I changed the subject.

I asked the lady who studied with me if it was true that apostates are mentally diseased. She simply asked if I had been looking at the internet...

This is so sad.
At the KH I used to go to, there is a little girl. She's about 9. According to her, she has three daddies. She is homeschooled, and when I asked if she had lots of friends, she said she knew two other little girls who are also JWs and homeschooled. But she never gets to see them. :(

I don't want to ask my mother about it. Unless she happens to send me the magazine again, which is unlikely unless I ask!
She has been a JW since 1983. Almost immediately after leaving my dad and us kids. My dad always told us bad things about JWs.
I thought he just hated her and wanted her to look bad. Which is probably true anyway. So when I contacted her three years ago, she asked if she could send me a book. It turned out to be the Bible Teach book, and I was curious, so I studied it with her. At first it was exciting, learning something new. And for a year or so I was all into it. Then I started looking for Kingdom Melodies on YouTube, I think it was before I realized I could get them on the official website.
I got to a point where it was showing links to videos made by former witnesses. Curiosity once again got the better of me, and I found a whole new world. According to these people, the JWs would shun even a family member for something as simple as smoking. I smoke! And there was one about a disappearing Elder book. Many many more about how much it is a cult and whatnot.
I am not going to the meetings or studying any more. I was never baptised. I still let my mom study the Jeremiah book with me sometimes. But I usually find an excuse not to.
I found this forum site, and thought I'd pop in and see what info I could get.
My name is Rose. :)
