Philosophy from a comic strip writer. Thats a new one on me. Should I be paying closer attention to the daily Doonesbury? Is there blinding insight into my own life flowing from the witty banter of Dilbert? newbie and not understanding all of the aspects of this site

i have read alot on this site for a while and just have been absorbing it as i make my way.. one thing i noticed was alot said about abuse of children... i experienced the reverse...false stories told..believed by elders because of hidden agenda and 20+ years as special pioneers ..etc.

as of no count and belief in a new publisher destroyed our lives and children's lives.

the horror never stops ...some of our family is disassociated...some disfellowshipped...some inactive...some active..some on a fence...mostly because of one or two elders and the misapplication of their power and lack of love to our family.

Well, Simon and friends have made this a wonderful place to express opinions and ask questions. I myself don't get to frequent the site as much as I would like, but I certainly enjoy it when I do. A word of advice though- Anytime you see a thread where Prisca and Farkel are engaging in one of there spirited debates, run and hide. you'll be glad you did.

Were you married at the Kingdom Hall ? How bad was your wedding reception ?

i'm just wondering...... i remember going to some wedding receptions for couples who got married at the kingdom hall,.

and i hate to be mean but, super boring, and bad, how bad you ask ??

ok here we go ..... - the worst had to be one couple played kingdom meolodies for their wedding dances, i couldn't believe it.. - no alcohol (i'm sure we all experienced a few of these), reception was over by 9:30.. - no music at all, just a gathering of people, and they ended the reception with a prayer, i thought i was at an assembly.. - food, like if you can't afford to get married don't, like frozen stuff bought at your local grocery store, and still in the package when you got up to the tables, how tacky.. - you could always tell a couple who couldn't afford much, when you had to drive 50 miles into the back woods to find some dinky little community hall they rented for $100.. - i remember one where the bride was pregnant, i was really surprised they allowed them to use the kingdom hall.. - another classic was, they had this band (of all jw's of course) and man they were bad.

If you think JW weddings are bad, I highly suggest skipping JW funerals. My grandfather passed away a little over a year ago, and frankly I'm still pissed at the spectacle I was forced to be a part of.

How do you glue together a broken home

i'm 17. i was disfellowshipped almost two years ago.

i am the youngest of four kids and am the only left at home.

i live with my dad who has sort of faded from the jw scene.

I've noticed that a lot of the GB's cult zombies rarely realize the stupidity of shunning family until it's too late. It's sad really that some of them never realize what they've done until suddenly they are 80 years old and finding out the hard way that thier so-called Jay-Dub buddies aren't going to be there to change thier bed pan for them. Rotting away in a nursing home soaked in a puddle of urine is not how I would want to go out. "For every action thier is an equal and opposite reaction".

2 Elders steal 6 million dollars

the missoulia montana paper of 12/30/02 carried the following news report.. two jehovahs witness elders, dale a. erickson and darryl k willis pleaded no contest to charges of fraud, amounting to 6 million dollar theft from an aged lady, una anderson.. it is the biggest single theft case in the history of montana, according to the prosecutors.

this theft occured over a seven year period.

Well, I would imagine the Watchtower's P.R. machine will be working overtime on this one. Something tells me the old 'Disfellowship and forget' policy won't do them much good here. I always thoughtthat was kind of fascinating. We baptize them from the world and we Disfellowship them back to the world. Its kind of like a religous "Binge and Purge". It would be sad, if it wasn't so pathetic.
